Hooking up a scan tool or such shouldn't have anything to do with it, the alarm
system is not in any way related to the OBD-II system and ECU.

The only way for the system to trigger is if one of the door switches closes, or
the door unlock sensor switches closes, or the hood switch closes. Otherwise it
would have to get a "panic" signal from a remote. That's it.

It's extremely unlikely you're getting a random signal that somehow triggers the
system. Not just extremely unlikely, we're talking almost completely unlikely.
That's the last thing I'd suspect, after looking for little green gremlins
monkeying with your truck.

Here's a good one. All of a sudden, my alarm goes off for no reason. It doesnt seem to be dependent on anything. I locked it properly. Unlocked it, locked it...

Well, it happened at 3AM and then again at 5am. I'm away from population meaning that it wasnt anyone and the second time i was right on it as it happened. ...

LMAO... I dont have the schematics of the switches involved but did double check the switches by opening the doors, closing them etc. Checking for basic play...
