NewBug Carolinas was formed in the Fall of 2001 when four friends that had commuted to DC and as far away as New Mexico for New Beetle-related events decided to cultivate a newbug community right here in the Carolinas (that is-- North and South Carolina in the USA).

We're an informal group of Volkswagen New Beetle owners who like to have fun together and discuss all things newbug. A conversation may range anywhere from technical discussions about the "check engine light", comparisons of local VW dealers, etc. to discussions about decorating your budvase, the latest toys you bought for your car, and why you decided to name it "Inky".

We also try to have group events on a regular basis, including dinner get-togethers, short road trips, and participation in parades.
