Well I cut the Hoses from my Tranny to the oem radiator and gave the tranny its
own mini cooler, about 12" X 3/4" X 7" Is that a big enough cooler, I mounted it
up against the front of the oem radiator, ran new hoses from tranny to cooler.
now its the size of the cooler im worried about. and it still shudders like a
turbo clutch on a manual trans taking off easily -2krpms, could that be caused
by using chrysler ATF+3 instead of ATF4?, so far i know the cooler is flowing
because i can feel the heated oil passing through. shifts really smooth at high
end and freeway spritzes, 202 south from kop, smooth sailing of 80+ mph, if
theres no troopers. and seeing jaws drop listening to the sweet tones of the
engine at 4k+rpms as you swoop by.....hehehee
PS automatic trans owners, check to see if your rubber hoses are rubbing up
agains the sharp steal edge of the neons modulator housing, it should be a
recall.....engineered to cut the hose and leak all you transmission fludid out
leaving you stranded.
the new hose I replaced before the cooler idea started to gash with days after
being replaced. why arent they metal flex tubed.

Hello NEONderthals, I recently had to replace my lower transmission
cooler hose (the rubber longer hose that connects from the
transmission to radiators bottom section) because it had a slit in it
from a being close to a very sharp edge of the car's body,
(engineered!!!???)well about 4 3/4, of the transmission oil sprayed
out while slip/diving till a halt, I replaced the hose $11, ATF3 Oil
in gallon size 13 bucks, and an extra one i had, so i fixed the hose,
then refilled the oil about 3quarts first then turned on the engine
to fill the rest up to the last hole when engine was at normal hot
temp, shifted from park to neutral, to revese to Low, and eventually
drive, now the car moves back and forward ok, BUT; ON THE start from
the stop light/sign theres a shudder jump, or shudder go forward,
then disapears, DOES anyone know how to fix the shudder?
I surely appreciate a solution, and Thanks for reading my problem.
