NBeast will be held this year October 6-7 (Saturday and Sunday,
Columbus Day weekend) in Yorktown, Va, with excursions to nearby
Williamsburg and Jamestown.
Pre-registration is available at www.NBeast.org and will guarantee
you a shirt in the size you want! (note, registration is down as
of this writing. i'll be working this evening to fix it.)
Here's our detailed schedule information... we hope you'll decide
to join us if you haven't already.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5TH
Folks who get into town a little early can gather
for dinner at Pierce's Pitt Barbeque in
Williamsburg.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 6TH
We'll spend the day (from 10am - 3:30pm) on the
picturesque Yorktown Riverwalk, with a show-n-shine.
We'll be sure to attract attention in this very
public area.
We'll bring in a few grills so everyone can cook out
and have a good time. Please bring something to
grill and a side dish or dessert to share.
After the show-n-shine, we'll drive en masse along
the scenic Colonial Parkway to enjoy the fall color,
turn heads, and take a few photo ops.
At the end of the parkway, folks who love drives in
the country can continue on the ferry to
"Surry.":http://www.toursurryva.com/
Or, fans of history can visit historic
"Jamestown.":http://www.americas400thanniversary.com
/
Or, backtrack to Williamsburg to visit "Colonial
Williamsburg,":http://history.org or "Busch
Gardens.":http://www.buschgardens.com/
We'd like to get everyone back together for dinner;
a location that can handle all of us is still being
selected, but we're thinking seafood.
Howl O' Scream at Busch Gardens lasts until 11pm
tonight, so those wishing for the nighttime
experience there could go to Busch after dinner.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 8TH
Warren has graciously agreed to host breakfast at
his place on Sunday morning-- and Tom is going to
cook for everyone! Details and a map will be
handed out at the Show n' Shine Saturday. We'd
like for everyone to stop at a grocery store and
bring a breakfast staple-- eggs, bread, orange
juice, etc.
After breakfast we expect that people will choose to
do one of the many things available in the area
(Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown,
etc).
PLANNING AHEAD
Colonial Williamsburg (http://history.org/) - Those
who wish to take the seasonally-appropriate
"Legends, Myths, Mysteries, and Ghosts" candlelight
tour should purchase tickets in advance because the
tour is filling up. The tour runs on both Saturday
and Sunday night. Other tours are available, check
the web site for information or call them.
Busch Gardens (http://www.buschgardens.com/) - If
you know you want the full Busch experience, getting
a weekend pass might be a good idea. The array of
ticket options can be confusing, and sometimes
coupons discount tickets will be available at stores
in your area, so planning your time at Busch over
the weekend is a good idea.
