Exterior
The Starex has been designed MPV style to look elegant, but its workhorse pedigree is unquestionable. Dual sliding side doors, twin swing rear doors & enlarged wheels and tires (215/70R16) make one’s manual routine job an easier one. A turning radius of 5.61m makes Starex a breeze to navigate.

Interior
One will find improved mounting of the transmission gear shift lever to the center fascia to avoid distraction of movement between the driver seat and front passenger seat. The Starex comes standard with a 5-speed Auto Transmission. You will also see an overhead storage console, an added feature. The new Hyundai H-1 also has an electro-chromic rear view mirror and new roof-mounted air vents for further cooling the cabin. A loading area of 2,375 x 1,620 x 1,350mm makes for loading more equipment and a probably conversion into a passenger van.

Under the hood
Hyundai Starex is powered by a turbocharged, 2.5 CRDi, Euro-IV compliant engine which yields 170ps and 40kg.m of torque. The advanced common rail diesel engine also has a top speed of 180km/h.

Starex comes with 16-inch front disc brakes. These yield better braking power than the previous H-1 discs. A MacPherson strut front suspension is added to further experience better handling conditions. It comes with a single airbag in the driver’s seat. ABS is standard.
