need to pull the half shaft from my daughter's 1995 Mazda 626. Most of the work
looks straight fwd but is there a c-clip holding the shaft to the transaxle
housing?
The mechanical manual I have isn't too clear about that fact / fiction, so Im
hesitant to start a job I might not be able to finish.
THoughts?
Thanks y'all

Sorry Guys, I never intended this "group" to be used a forum.
I merely created it as a place to store and share the various files on
MX6 repair I've found across the net over the years :)

Check the files section!

The best forum for MX6 questions/answers is definately
http://www.mx6.com/forums/

Cheers,

Owl

In the USA a distributor costs $250 - $700. They are pricey. Dizzies for manuals are more expensive because they are more complicated. The ones from parts discounters can be unreliable so check the guarantee. Some are defective right out the box.

Mazda parts are expensive but reliable.

I bought a replacement one from Distributor King good price, lifetime replacement guarantee. They have replaced 3 in the last 15 months. I just paid return shipping. Two were defective right out the box. At least they stand by their guarantee and they are fairly close to my home.

Don't bother with a used part useless you've seen the car it came from running.

Just check wiring, cap and plugs to make rule out all other possibilities.

Mike

probably the distributor. Do you notice any odd behaviour before the breakdown?

More later I'm at work.

Hey Mate, um i would check distributor cap, and then ignitor and then
distibutor, most often it is the cap.

All forgiven, That tone makes me feel like I'm talking to family. Anyway I found the diagram and its attached. It shows exactly what I need. I have the connections right but my car won't run.

Full scenario, Last month, I experienced repeated drop outs on the highway with tachometer dropping to 0 running on a 10 month old Distributor King unit. I replaced shaky Distributor King with junkyard unit. No start. Reinstalled DK unit and repaired wiring that broke due to replacement. Car still won't start. I have another junkyard unit that I'm considering installing. Before installing I want to rule out wiring as a possible cause.

I'd like to learn a bench test for the distributor.

Rob,

Thanks for the diagrams. Sorry I did not reply sooner. I misunderstood the forum interface. I have an 94, 4cyl, 5spd, very stock. It has not run since I swapped the distributor, no spark. Original is back in still no spark. I have a third but I had to patch the wiring harness. I won't to make sure the harness is right before I try the next distr.

I am completly confused by this email.

But thank you roberto for these diagrams. I however am not quite sure what you meant about my "willingness" to answer a question that I did not know was posed.

I don't necessarily need these schematics but however am trying to put together a database of a full service manual for the mx6 community to have available.

michaelmx6,
In the mx6 website and despite my willingness to help
you, you still didn't respond to the question about
your vehicle transmission/engine. So much for a
comrade.
All of the attached schematics belong to a 1994 i4
MTX, power distribution and ignition.
'hope it helps.

Does anyone have a distributor plug schematic for this year? I need a
diagram that indicates wire color and location for both the 3 pin and 6
pin plugs.

Thanks
