Well the weather held out for us to race, but it would have been nice if we'd
gotten another 5 min. without hail to load up the bikes yikes! (although we
likely would have just spent it hanging out and drinking post-race beers and
loaded bikes in the hail anyway!)
Most of the day though, the weather was nearly perfect; 80f and sunny.
Great turn out again from the Moped Contingency with more mopeds out this time
than scooters!
Again we ran each class separately to qualify for position for the race.
Because the scooterists seemed to be running behind schedule... we ran the
mopeds qualifying heat first. In the first heat we had the following finish
order:
Derek #87
Johno #24
Rick #11
Seth #?
Josh #17
Andy #7
Qualifying for Scooters finished in the following:
Scott #72
Justin #451
Johnny #221
Kerri #21
For the Big race we had almost identical finishes for each group but ran them
together (as seen in Open Class on the points page) for the following finishes:
Scott #72
Justin #451
Johnny #221
Kerri #21
Derek #87
Johno #24
Rick #11
Josh #17
Andy #7
(seth had to leave early)
I've put the points for the last two races up in the files section in the yahoo
group so please check them out.
Regarding that file, Everyone with their names, #'s and scores in black have
paid dues, those in grey have not paid yet. If I have any of those wrong or if
any of the data seems off contact me and let's straighten it out (Kerri tracks
the dues and she's sleeping but I wanted to put these up as soon as I had them).
Thanks again to everyone that came out and had a great time racing. Special
thanks to those that have been able to pay dues so far... With your help and the
generous help from Pete of Sportique Scooters Boulder, it looks like we will be
able to rent the track for the Nationals next month.
Nationals:
Friday July 31st
Racing Noon to 4pm, track will be reserved and we will not have to wait for
Carts or Motorcycles as we will have exclusive use of it.
If you have paid dues by that time you will race for free (providing we can
afford it which looks like it will happen).
We'd like to again allow this event to be free for any out of state racers as
our way of saying thanks for making the long trek.
Instate racers that have not paid dues that would like to do so can get in touch
with Kerri the treasurer via email on this list or contact me and I can get you
in touch. We'd like to get all this money business behind us as soon as
possible so I think we will end regular season dues of $50 one month from today
on July 16h. (if you know that you will pay dues but need an extension please
get in touch)
Those that live in state and want to race with us next month will be required to
pay an amount greater than that on the day of the races.
(likely $75-$100 depending on the budget at that point)
Please register ASAP so you only have to pay $50 for the season.
Again, we will have the track to ourselves next month so we will likely run each
run group for two qualifying heats and one race, with an additional race
including everyone (open class). This will be quite a bit more racing than we
normally get in our normal $35 track days as we will not have to wait on karts.
Polini Cup,
The Plini Cup in California is off in July and there is rumors that they may
join us for the Natiaonals event. This would be awesome! If anyone knows any
details on this please let us know and specifically if you know anyone coming
from Michigan or that area with a trailer, please let us know as we'd like to
pay to have them bring us a keg of Bells Beer.
More details as the nationals gets closer.
Thanks again to everyone racing, coming out to help, photograph and support the
sport and to everyone following along at home.
cheers,
Scott
