Some of the 404 had a Mercedes diesel. That, in my opinion, is the only
way to safely cross or run in high water. The diesel is not affected
unless the water is deeper than the intake. You could add a snorkel kit
if it is higher than that. What about the river current. You may want
to run a cable across first and tether the Unimog to it to keep from
being washed downstream.
