I am restoring a 29 Deluxe Delivery and I need top wood and body
wood . So far I am striking
out on anyone having patterns . The wood that is there is not suitable
for patterns . I was wondering if you might have some wood for patterns
or know someone that does . I tried Steve
Cannon at classic wood but he did not have any patterns . I may have to
get top wood for a tudor and modify it to work .
Thanks

Classic Wood in North Carolina has the complete wood kit, I just bought one and it fits perfect. I could not buy the wood to make the kit for the price he charged.
His number is: 336-691-1344 ask for Steve Cannon the owner.
Do you have an extra rear door latch? I might have a handle to trade if you did.
Do you have two rear doors and the inside liner panels at the rear corners?

In the last few months I have found 2 1930 Deluxe Deliveries. The first
one has been out in a field way too long. Although it seems to be all
there, the wood has rotted and the body has fallen over the frame. I
tried calling the guy last week and his number is no longer in service.
The second one is just the body and frame. No running gear or seats.
The body has been disasembled and needs all new wood. I have a huckster
that could be used for the running gear. How hard is it to re-wood one
of these trucks? What kind of seats were used? Rear door handle is also
missing as is the door lock. The door latch mechanism seems to be
there. The rear door wood needs to be replaced as it is not all there.
I've always wanted a Sedan Delivery and I don't think I'll ever find
another one. Anyone know of patterns for the wood?
Subject: Re: [modelapaneltrucks] Re: Rear Door handle for 130A
I'm not familiar with 130As, but on a 79A the biggest difference is the bezel, the truck handle had an oval bezel with two screws. This one has the round one like a rumble seat / trunk handle. I contemplated using this style with a two screw bezel from a door handle on "Jim & Pat's" but found the correct one. That still might work.

Hello. I realize that this handle is from a late 30's Ford Station Wagon (ebay
item 260490998659) and isn't exactly the same handle, but, it may provide a
close match while looking for an exact match. It may even be able to use the
same lock hardware and be simple to install the correct handle when it is found.

I have a tool bin that is a very good reproduction . I am having trouble fitting in my panel truck . I suspect my problem is in the body wood not being correct . Could someone with a correct tool bin installed send me some pictures so I can see what I need to do to get a good fit . Thanks

I've got no problem here either. What part of Ontario is this guy from? I'm just west of Toronto.

I just ran across a fellow from Ontario, Canada who owns a '32 B-79 panel delvery. The truck is in the process of restoration.
It sounds like his restoration is taking place without the benefit of knowing what help is out there for him. I suspect that he would benefit immensely from the information and contacts on this site. I "joined" this site as the result of happening to buy the "Jim and Pats Delivery" truck. Jim just signed me up. Since then I've left the truck in very original condition, which is the way I bought it.
Would the participants here allow an extension of vehicles allowed to 1932? The body probably shares some parts and the mechanicals are close with the shared four cylinder engine.
Right now, he is looking for some guidance (maybe pictures) showing how the seats straddle the fuel tank. (The fuel tank on the '32 small truck is under the seat.) I don't believe that he has any seats. Also, he needs a rear tail
light mounting bracket.
An alternative might be a key email address or two to give him access to someone with lots of knowledge. Joe Davis comes to mind.
Thanks, Steve

As only one member - i have no problem with a 32 truck in the group.
But if others have a problem with it - i really do not care - one way or another.
I figure we all need all the information we can get on these old trucks.
Why not help this guy out if he wants to join.
To me new members keep the group more interesting and active.
It is not like this group has a lot of activity. I am not complaining - just a fact.

I have the drawings for the tool box
behind the front seat, also the drawing of a metal bracket that hold the dome
light switch on the right wooden door post. It is just above the height of the
seat.

Hello, I have an original steel top molding for a 30-31 panel del. I don't know if it is for over the visor or over the rear doors. Did they both use a metal trim piece? I could dig it out and try it over a visor. I have an ad coming out in the Sept-Oct AACA magazine and a current ad on the AACA web site under Model A Ford. I'll be at Hershey Fall Show, sites CI 45-46 , Oct. 6-9, with panel del. solid original sheet metal. Also a 30-31 original steel windshield frame(with cracked glass) with original upper and lower stanchions from a roadster pickup. Good morning.
The Body Parts Book shows that to be part number A-81264.
It is 5/8" wide and approximately 5/16" tall before closing the gap. It appears to be an extrusion and is made from aluminum. >

I am gathering information and material to start buying the items to install the
roof 'leather'. I have reviewed the Body parts Book and believe I understand
what I need with one exception. The Panel Delivery trucks that I have viewed in
person have the rear of the roof material folded over each other at the rear
corners with the folded material being at the rear of the roof. George
DeAngelis' book as well as the two factory photos that I have seen do not show
this in any of them. However, they do show a faint 'line' just above the rear
vertical body molding. The Body Parts Book does not show a part number for a
cross molding at the rear. Can anyone post a picture of a known original rear
roof treatment? Thanks you for your attention to this matter.
Good morning. I am finally getting started again on the 225A (drop floor) panel
delivery. I just received the rear door latches that I got from Joe Davis and
they look great. I am making this post to see if I can find some other folks
here that are also restoring '30-'31 panel deliveries in an attempt to share
info on the restorations. Joe has been a great help, and others as well, and I
want to start contributing now that I am getting started again. I have an album
here that I will start adding to as I go along and I have a website:
www.mantiquesresto.com that I will add additional photos to as well. I have
accumulated a few archive drawings and fabricated some pieces (I have a few
additional parts, willing to share). I have rebuilt the dropped floor area and
the sub-floor area and am working on the auxiliary floor and the cargo area
wood. I am doing the wood and body work on the original frame with the
motor/trans in it, while assebling the frame and suspension that I am going to
use on a rotisserie so that I can assemble it up-side down.
I have questions on 30 / 31 Panel Delivery Windlacing that goes around the front
doors that I hope someone can help me with.
I have seen the windlacing installed in two different ways but I don't know
which is correct:
Above the doors -
I have seen the windlace tab inserted between the metal upper door sill piece
and the wood.
I have also seen the windlace tab inserted between the upholstery panel that
goes above the door and the wood.
which is correct?
Along Hinge side of door-
I have seen the windlace placed on the door with the tab placed between the
Upholstery door panel and the door on the lower portion of
the door and between the window garnish and door on the upper door.
I have also seen the windlace placed on the (hinged) post where the windlace
tab is placed between the cowl upholstered panel and the door post at the bottom
and between the windshield garnish molding and post at the top.
which is correct?
Along striker side of door -
Normally the windlace tab would go between the upholstery panel and the wood
door post, but since there is no upholstery in the rear of the panel delivery I
assume I can just tack the windlace to the wood post and I have a half inch wide
metal trim strip to place over the windlace tab just to finish it up.
is the correct thing to do or does anyone have a better suggestion?
Thanks for any info.
Tom
The stripe on a 79A is on the flat part of the sheetmetal not the reveal
moldings as is comman on MOdel A'. The stripe outlines the panel. There are lots
of Ford Archive pictures showing the correct stripe, most were in the Model A
News article in the late '60's - early '70's on 79A's, reprinted in G.
DeAngelis' book.
Looking at some pictures in the Photo section a couple other things come to
mind. The interior flat painted surfaces were masonite, or masonite like
material, not wood. The headliner if you want to call it that, ie. the interior
side of the roof, was also masonite, not chicken wire. Rough side was out,
covered by the sheetmetal.
The truck we had was restored from a nice original built in October 1929,
finished the restoration in 1975. Pictures are under Jim & Pat's Delivery. It
may not be correct per the Judging Standards but it was as close as I could make
it to the way it was made. Too bad Henry didn't have the Judging Standards to go
by.
