I have questions on 30 / 31 Panel Delivery Windlacing that goes around the front
doors that I hope someone can help me with.
I have seen the windlacing installed in two different ways but I don't know
which is correct:
Above the doors -
I have seen the windlace tab inserted between the metal upper door sill piece
and the wood.
I have also seen the windlace tab inserted between the upholstery panel that
goes above the door and the wood.
which is correct?
Along Hinge side of door-
I have seen the windlace placed on the door with the tab placed between the
Upholstery door panel and the door on the lower portion of
the door and between the window garnish and door on the upper door.
I have also seen the windlace placed on the (hinged) post where the windlace
tab is placed between the cowl upholstered panel and the door post at the bottom
and between the windshield garnish molding and post at the top.
which is correct?
Along striker side of door -
Normally the windlace tab would go between the upholstery panel and the wood
door post, but since there is no upholstery in the rear of the panel delivery I
assume I can just tack the windlace to the wood post and I have a half inch wide
metal trim strip to place over the windlace tab just to finish it up.
is the correct thing to do or does anyone have a better suggestion?
Thanks for any info.
Tom
