what you said is all right, But not all of thing is perfect in every way. just like carbon fiber frame, it is very light and enough strong but it's surface is

  actually in bike frames you not only want it light,but as little flex in the material as possible.i built some extremely light stiff frames out of .029"

This is bellen in China, I have seen many amazing constructions made of bamboo and I always wondered, why such light, strong, stiff and elastic material is not
