I am always interested in a ride. I think it might be best planned for
after the 4th of July.

> OK, I love the river rides. I can not count the times that I have rode the WI/IL state line west past the Des Plaines and Fox Rivers to Rockton and the Rock River, following the Rock from near Kishwaukee down to Byron and Oregon - a good place to take a break and relax. Lowden State Park is one of my favorite IL State Parks. The ride down IL-2 from there is sweet - driving through Castle Rock State Park and crossing the Rock River several times on the way south past Grand Detour, through Dixon and Sterling to Rock Falls, where a pit stop at the harley dealer is my spot to stretch my legs before taking US-30 west (over the Rock River again) to Morrison, Albany, Fulton, and my home town, Clinton, Iowa, where you can take US-67 north of town to Eagle Point Park for a view of the Mississippi River at lock and dam #13. Just north of Clinton at Sabula, IA, US-67 ends at US-52. Here you can cross back over the Mississippi to Savanna, IL (a metal grate
bridge
> base is waiting you here) OR you can take US-52 north to lock and dam #12 at Bellevue, where many a person takes a break in the nice little park on the Mississippi. Dubuque, IA and Galena, IL are just north of Bellevue and the famous motorcycle road, The Stagecoach Trail, extends east from Galena up to Council Hill and Scales Mound (highest land point in IL and near New Diggins, WI), over to Apple River (on the IL/WI state line) and down to Lena, IL. Ok, I am done rambling about my favorite River Rides in NW IL.

> God morning. Riding around Sterling is good. Kind of smelly right now with the fish kill in the Rock River. I still keep up with the Sportster riders. Now that we are retired we travel a lot with the 3 kids in the military. Just had on in the Navy transfer from Hawaii to Bremerton WA. Going to ride the bikes out to see them (Him and his wife) when he gets setteled into housing. You get to Byron now and then you will have to drop a lineso we can all meet.
