Good job, Yes some of us are working on our cars also. I have just installed a walnut dash ,Auto Meter gages, and a Nardi steering wheel, mine is VW biased. You can probably get the transportation dept to call it a constructed vehicle and use the serial number of the kit as the car’s serial number. Mine is a CMC also. By the way, this is a never ending hobby, there is always something to do or improve.

Well guys - with the break in weather and lifting of my spirits - my "hand-me-down" Chevette based CMC/Fiberfab MG TD kit car fired itself up and made a maiden voyage around my neighborhood block under its own power!   No hood, no upholstery, no door latches, - not even a windshield.  But she ran proudly - considering the engine had not been fired up for around 20 years!

One small step for this little project car - but a major milestone for me in my quest to complete this kit!  With a little luck I'll have it road worthy by summertime.

I'm at least the third owner and have taken on not only completion of the car - but correction of innumerable instances of poorly done work by unknown, former builders in the process.  Its coming together - slowly.  But having her come to life for even a few minutes was inspiring.  And the fact that she pulled a small hill on her own was simply thrilling!  :)

A lot of work is left.  And soon the dreaded hat-in-hand trip to my local DOT office to negotiate a title for this little orphan car.  I'm still not clear whether I need to install a catalytic converter or not.  One of the prior build attempts put a new exhaust system in place without a converter.  I'll leave well enough alone until they tell me otherwise.  Who knows - maybe they'll title it as a reconstructed 1952 MG TD and I won't have to fret over the inspection nonsense.
