familiar with "Austin America" brand? They used to sell MGs and
Triumphs , Lotus, at MG Motors on RT 17 near Rt 42 Parma, at
Cleveland border. There is no group for them , I searched.

It's not a problem here anymore.
I see your are from Cleveland, any MGs, and do you make any of the
Ohio MG/British shows?
We are just back today from the Summer party in Grand Rapids. There
were over 500 cars at the show. My wife did a first place in the 77-
78 my son a third in the same class. Other son a fourth in the LE
class. The weather was cool but rain was not a factor.
Hey Rich, there was one of those funny looking 4 door MGs there like
yours.I think he came from CA or some far away place. But he was
beat out by an 1100.

I am on the low carb thing, maybe spam is good.
Good trip to NJ, all the cars ran great. Carole's new engine ran
perfect and did not use a drop of oil runs cool and just all round
runs great. Carole won a first place in her class with the 78 and
Ryan won a 2nd in the same class with his 77. Bill H. had a bit of
an elec problem as his altenator gave up so we ran most of the trip
on a jump battery till we could get another from Moss. Moss East is
only 5 miles from the hotel. All and all a good trip. We are
thinking of the trip to WA next year but it may not go past the
thinking stage.

Don't make such a fuss. I like Spam. I could eat Spam, eggs, Spam,
bacon, Spam, Spam, and Spam.
So, how was MG 2004? Got pics? Maybe a travelogue at the next
meeting?
Rich
the spam is still getting through so for now each message will have
to be approved. it's too bad the spamers have to make it hard on
everyone they come in contact with.
for the most part i'm on top it the email every day so there should
be much of a delay in posting. that is if there was something to
post other than spam, come on guys, you must be doing something with
these MGs!

Hi MG'ers, anyone going to make it to the big one in NJ next week.
We plan on driving four cars with the help of our Sons.
Just finished the A/C and O/D upgrades to Carole's 78B (see Picture
on home page) and now the hottest of days well be top up. It was a
lot of work and I would not want to do another. I will post some
pictures of the instal for anyone interested. I think it came out as
near to a factory install as posible. It looks great as well. Went
with a third cooling fan all three run with the A/C or all with the
thrmostat. The car does not seem to run any hotter with the air on.
We each not have the same Bs both with A/C and yellow. Mine is a 79.
I will do the O/D this fall with a repaint and a good going through.
Hope to see some of you at the big MGB show next week.
Terry
Just back from a great 250 mile drive in the MGA with my wife. We
pulled out a second place, hard questions. All and all a great day
and the car ran perfect.
Terry
Check out this place for Auctions and Fixed price Sales (No

I personally liked the amazing : "AUTO-RELIST UNTIL SOLD" option.

Just checking, how is that hard top project coming? What other
Winter projects are going on for people? I'm doing two OD
conversions and putting AC in my wife's 78 B, I already have it in
my 79B. After that I'm not sure, I have a TC to do or a 59 RHD MGA
coupe to restore.

I currently have a 1972 MGB. The car is straight; I am
in Alabama, & the car is from here, so it's basically
no/low rust & still has it's original steel floors although
the moisture & rubber mats have allowed for "Swiss Floor
Syndrome" with pin holes in many floor spots. I was born &
raised the first 18 years in Ohio so I know about "REAL:
RUST" first hand.
My 1972 MGB was originally Orange and is now Red with
rough black original vinyl interior. I have started to sew
new pleated seats with my industrial machine I acquired and
have learned to make pretty nice, straight pleated seats.!!
My top is "suffering" the standard age signs. I have a
friend with a 1970 & a great top. I have always liked a
Red MGB with black top & black interior best,
{although there are many other good color combination}, my
first "English car was a 1954 TR-2 which was also red with
black & black.
? ? HARDTOPS ? ? I have always liked the hardtops on
Mercedes SL's & early Corvettes & old T-Birds, but .......
for some reason the English Hardtops NEVER turned me
on. .... so I've decided to build my own HARDTOP. { I
have a lot of fiberglass experience} Because I've always
liked the "Soft-top" look of my MGB,
I've decided to build a {"Soft-Top 'Look-alike'} hardtop. In
my case I'll paint it semi-gloss black outside, but it
could be "any colour".
I will NOT use soft vinyl for the back windows and may
even finish mine with a 'glass' back center window. It
will have a standard MGB latch front system and the target
weight is 45 to 50 pounds. I know up north when I had
convertibles in the winter that I had to drive as
a "Daily Driver" I never used the top 'down' for 4 to 5
months once winter really started.
? ? ? ? ...._________I would like the club members' opinions

I expect to finish the "First" top for my car out of the
mold by the end of Nov 2003 in just 2 weeks. I'll try to
get Fotos for anyone that would be interested..
Please let me have your input and suggestions as how to
best get others input & posting suggestions for this
hardtop when I finish it, [as I am not a big internet

3 vintage sportscars-$8,000
Do to recent severely limiting medical problems, I can no longer
pursue my MG hobby and I am forced to sell the MGs that I have been
restoring: 1969 MGC-GT, 1969 MGC-Rdstr and 1971 MGB-Rdstr. The C-GT
and MGB have had all the body and engine work already done
professionally and I have all the receipts. Finishing the
restorations, to the level that I have been doing, you should make
well over $30,000 if you sell them. I will sell them individually,
but if the right person can buy all 3.....I will sell them all for
just $8,000 with all the restoration parts I have for each of the
cars...and I have gotten virtually all parts for all cars, mostly new
parts. You have to see this to believe it. I have a pix of the GT
when it returned from the paint shop I can send as a sample. Because
I am still working on the cars with a helper 2 nights a week, I can
only make this offer available only until July 31. Prices will
increase depending on the amount of work we get done and then I will
have to advertise more broadly. The cars are located in Jackson, NJ
near Great Adventure Mall/Park. Answer me by email at
pjaynj@... or call 732-928-0406 between 9AM to 9PM. So
much more has been done I can't write it all here so please call.
The price for all 3 doesn't even cover the parts purchased.

Hey guys, I just thought I'd let you know that I've started another YAHOO group,
hopefully, more specific to the MGC. It's called MGC Garage. I didn't do it
becouse I thought there was anything lacking with your group, on the contrary it
was great if a little quiet, it's just that some of the questions I had were
better answered by folks with more direct experience with the "C". I'd like to
continue to monitor your group and to invite anyone interested in issues that
might be germain to the MGC and other MG models to monitor ours. We still have
enough in common to make it worthwhile. Perhaps we could function as a 'sister'
site. Thanks for understanding,

Hi guys, I was watching a show on Discovery Home on Sunday that was
about the ressurection of a Jaguar. The exact title I do not recall
but if you're checking the listings it was 1/2 hour long and there
were two episodes back to back. The show title doesn't mention
Jaguar but is something about bringing a car back to life...forget
it. Anyway, they were trying to sunchronize the carbs and the tech
had a piece of hose up to his ear and was listening to the three carb
throats to discern the differences in air flow when in walks
the 'expert' and hands him this dandy little meter that inserts right
into the carb intake and measures air flow. He called it an air flow
meter. I could not see who made the device but it looked like
something I should have one of. I know, I know, you're wondering how
I could ever abandon the old trusty Unisyn. But hey, we just drive
old cars, that doesn't mean we have to use the old ways to work on
them. If anyone knows where I might look for one of these gadgets
please let me know. I've looked in my European Moss Motors catalogue
but it wasn't there, though I don't think it's a device developed
just for cars or just available over seas. I could be wrong though.
As a second point I have a question. Has anyone tried using ram
intakes inside a Ram Flow type filter on your SU's. I've been
reading up on carbureters lately and there seem to be definite
advantages to these intke tubes, but I hesitate to run minus some
sort of filtering. I was just looking at my Ram Flow filters
yesterday and it looked like I may be able to fit them over the
shorter tubes available. Comments are welcome. Bye for now,
mfrepp
Most of my contacts in the UK have come from MG World and Classic and Sports
Car magazines. If you're looking for a source I'd suggest you contact
Bromsgrove MG through their web site. <A

They have always been more than helpful and infinitely knowledgeable. If
they don't have what you're looking for they can usually point you in the
right direction.

Hey AJ,
A great place to start is mgcars.org.uk which is the MG web ring and will link
you to a whole buncha stuff. I have seen some sites recently advertising
Whitworth things, but I don't know where I saw it.
Good luck
How do you find the UK sites for parts...I'm looking for a source for
Wintworth taps and dies...AJ

I'm not an expert in world money, but from what I have seen the exchange rate
favors the dollar at this point. Various things I have priced in the UK are
much less expensive than in the US. I have also noticed the auction sites

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that parts, in a lot of cases, are
cheaper purchased and shipped from the U.K. than getting them here?
I just priced four new splined hubs for my '69 MGC roadster. About $600 plus
shipping here in the good ole U.S. I can get them for less than $500
including shipping from England. Now maybe that's because of the higher
demand for MGC parts over there. And the selection of parts is a lot bigger
as well. They do seem to appreciate all the MG models a lot more than we do.
Are there similar savings to be had for the MGB? I'd be interested to know.

The new club site is now up and running. All members and people
interested in the goings on with the MG Car Club Southwestern Ohio

There is still a lot of work to be done, many thanks to Jeff Opt for
all the hard work putting this site together for our car club.
On another note, yes Yahoo will remove anything attatched to these
post. Text only. We do have a picture section to post pictures. Let
us know when you post any pictures of yourself and cars so we can go
look.

Bob wrote to ask me if Yahoo stripped off the attachment of the MGC photo.
Evidently it didn't make it. Well, I don't know because that's the first
time I ever tried to attach a file to a Yahoo email as well. So, I'm
checking it out. I hope I didn't get anyone's expectations up too high.

[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
Hi Bob, I think it does remove any attachements. Also I think it has
to text only, no HTML.
You can post links and pictures to those sections.
One I am having a problem posting to is owner-mgs-
digest@... I get the digest but I can't post. Help is hard
to find on these things. I think I do see your name there as well as
some of the other list. The other one I receive is the MG-TABC list.
I don't recall where you live, I'm in SW Ohio. Maybe someday we will
cross paths at a show of somekind. ,,,,, Ever make it to Beaulieu?
