Sid, The pump orientation shouldn't matter as long as the motor bearings can tolerate whatever thrusting changes may occur but keeping the pump at the bottom...
... So I would have thought, but I tested 4 different motorcycle pumps "shaft up", and despite a +ve head feeder tank, they would not raise pressure and pumped...
