1976 Mazda REPU For Sale, Lawrenceville GA   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1083 of 1091 |

I am selling my 1976 Rotary Pickup. It in very good shape. Aside from a couple bubbles in the paint, the only real rust is in the driver floorboard. <<...>> <<...>>

The interior is original, and as such is far from perfect, but overall it is very presentable. There are no rips in the seat, all glass is perfect.

The engine was replaced in 1998 with a Hayes Rotary engine at 123,430 miles. The truck now has 129,929 miles, so it has been driven very little since the engine replacement. I have all the paperwork and receipts from the original owner to show this. It has the Racing Beat Holley 4bbl kit, and a racing beat exhaust. The only think mechanically wrong with it is the pedal will not release the clutch. It freely moves between gears when the engine is not running the fork may have broken, it’s probably an easy fix but I have not looked into it.

I bought the truck over two years ago from a man in NC. The truck had been in his family for years. He had a back injury and could no longer work on cars, so when the clutch stopped releasing, he put it up for sale. I have always been into rotaries, and bought it knowing about the clutch problem and had big plans for it. Soon after that my marriage ended in divorce, and I changed jobs, so I never found time to work on it. It has been sitting ever since, in the exact state that I bought it in. It starts and runs, but since it has been sitting so long, it needs some freshening. This will make someone a very cool truck with very little investment to bring it to top-notch. I would love to keep it for myself, but I am changing jobs again, will be moving soon, and I don’t see having the time to appreciate it in the short term. I have a stack of receipts from the original owner I can scan if you want, and a bunch of additional pictures. I would like $3000, but I will entertain *reasonable* offers or possibly a trade for a fun daily driver I sold my last RX7 a few months ago and would consider one in trade as long as its in good shape and very reliable or let me know what you have. I might consider transporting it in the GA, AL, FL area for a fee. Send me an email, I will send more pictures and info and we can talk.

-Scott
