I've seen some of the early promotional literature on the Mistral, which shows
that the lower part of the car, below the chrome strip, which runs below the
doors, is painted body color. The literature which comes to mind here is the
one for the "Due Posti". Most Mistrals, including my '65, are black in that
area, which seems to be done in a sort of thick paint or undercoating material
on my car. Can anyone explain the difference? What is felt to be the "correct"
color (black vs. body color) and the correct material (smooth finish vs. a
textured undercoat style finish)? Also, if the area is black, what "color" of
black should it be? By that, I mean should it be shiny, semi-gloss, matte, or
some other variety? Your comments should be interesting. RD
