Hi Tony,
Give me a call at work tomorrow and I can give you the number of
"Automotion" at Albion, it is a partership and one of the blokes was the
mechanic at "John Cant Lotus". I also have Andrew Chapman's number if you
wish.

FYI:
Rare opportunity to own a truely unique piece of Lotus History. This Lotus was
originally scheduled to be a 2004 production model. Lotus revised their decision
after the US changed the federal regulations. Therefore Lotus produced their
final US production of the Esprit as a 2003.5 model. Only 33 of these exotic
cars made it to the US for sale. We are proud to offer this one owner
meticulously maintained 1,119 mile car to you.
There were many changes between the 2003 and 2003.5 productions:
Bilstein Dampers with stiffened settings and adjustable spring platforms.
Uprated Eibach Springs.
Smart Tire system monitors temperature and pressure of each tire individually.
New unpainted Stainless steel mesh grills on the front valence and engine
compartment.
Esprit decal in rear quarter windows has an etched finish.
Quilted stitching on the seat backs and perforated leather on the door panels.
Passenger side airbag cover is embossed with the Lotus Roundel.
Elise style climate control knobs with a brushed aluminum finish.
New style shorter gear knob is finished in brushed aluminum and topped with a
Lotus Badge.
Please remember this is a very rare vehicle and needs someone who will truely
keep this piece of history around for decades. It started its life with a great
owner, and needs to go to another one who can appreciate what they have in the
garage. Good Luck. Please call with any questions. This vehicle is also for sale
in our showroom to retail customers. Feel free to contact us with any offers
before the auction ends. If you have any questions about this or any of my other
auctions please feel free to contact me via e-mail by clicking here or you can
call me at 952-261-9874 763-464-9642. Thank you for your interest and I look
forward to hearing from you soon.

*BREAKING NEWS*
*Chains Off For Save Lakeside Day*
*For Immediate Release: 10 August, 2007*
*Brisbane, Queensland* - Pine Rivers Shire Council has boldly offered
to open the gates of Lakeside Raceway on Sunday, 12 August for the Save
Lakeside Cruise In Show. Enthusiasts and shire residents are holding
a motorcycle and car parade from Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens, which
will now finish with a vehicle display on the historic grounds
of Lakeside Raceway.
Lakeside Motor Racing Enthusiasts is promoting the event to show support
for the council's efforts to re-open Lakeside International
Raceway, which was originally planned to be held on private land across
the road from the historic circuit.
LMRE president Ian Milton said,
"Whilst we're not on the track, we're very excited to be actually using
Lakeside for the show'n'shine, it feels like we're going home!"
"Everyone is impressed by this gesture of goodwill and hopes that it is
a strong indication that Council is now in a position to deliver a
return on investment to ratepayers and allow us back into our sporting
facility."
When asked why the change of direction from the Pine Rivers Shire
Council, Mr Milton replied,
"I think that most Councilors understand that the positive economic,
social and life saving benefits of re-opening Lakeside far outweigh the
negatives and that they will reach directly, or indirectly, nearly
everyone in the community."
Supporters of Lakeside Raceway have patiently waited nearly six years
for the re-opening of their sport's only facility on the north side of
Brisbane.
Mr. Milton explains,
'It's encouraging to see that the Council understands that they are the
current custodians of Queensland's motor racing heritage and future and
are prepared to take it seriously."
"At times, I feel that we are failing the current generation of kids by
not providing any alternative and thereby contributing to the street
racing culture in South East Queensland."
Track walking tours will be conducted by Lakeside veterans to allow
old-hands to reminisce while giving first-timers a real feel for one of
the fastest and most technically challenging circuits in Australia.
There's free LMRE membership if you live in the recently announced North
Moreton Regional Council area (Pine Rivers, Redcliffe, Caboolture). If
you are, or have been a Pine Rivers Shire ratepayer it's your track too!
If you're coming to the cruise and/or show'n'shine, save yourself some
time and hassle on Sunday by getting your REGISTRATION FORM
<http://www.lakesideraceway.com/registration_indemnity_form.htm> on-line
now.

Hi Adam
Regarding 74 JPS Europa, the measurements are normal, I checked mine out and its
about the same, I v'e got 185/60 tyres on mine and lowered about 2". If the
camber is OK usually nothing is bent as there is no adjustments except for toe

Subject: [lotusqld] Europa JPS info....please
I recently looked at a '74 JPS Europa. I checked it over thoroughly -
'twas a bit of surface rust on linkage arms etc. Body paint not
concourse etc. Anyway my question is (because it didn't look right) is
with the front wheels clearance (with 175/70 tyres at correct pressure).
If you look at the front passenger (left) side wheel the clearance on
this car from 3o'clock on the wheel to the body/wheel arch skin was
approx. 1-1/2" (35-40mm)- when the wheel was on fullleft hand turn lock
the clearance was about 5mm if that. Is this usual? Is it steering
geometry set up (or worse) Could some one please tell me what this
clearance should be.
Cheers for any info

Craig,
it sounds like you need a manifold from a Caterham 7. They are
available ex England. I bought one about 5 years ago, they were cheap,
the freight was expensive

Hi,
Can anyone help me out?
I am finishing the rebuild of my engine however I need a short dual
Weber intake manifold for a 1600 crossflow engine.
I think the short manifolds are about 60mm to 70mm face to face where as
the long are about 100mm face to face.
I need the short in order to get my bonnet back on the car....
Also, if anyone is interested, I am happy to sell the long manifold if I
find a short............ my long manifold is brand new .....
Thanks for your help

i have modified the spigot end bearing on crank (2.2 crossed drilled

new forged 2.2 pistons and rings, bearing, valves and springs with
bronze/silicon guides .
new cams stage 3 ,carbs x 2 fully over hauled

.Hi Craig
I actually did some research on the car chassis no CS 33871 TCR2
although Caterham could not acess records when I tried , very small world
nowadays , when I looked at the car the chassis plate tag had been removed but
looked like it had only just been taken off .

Hi Craig,
Greg Bray 07 32082306 would be the best choice for your twin cam rebuild.
Try Derek Dean 0438688886 for the body bits - he has a knack of being able
to source odd parts at short notice.

Craig,
there is a guy out near Ipswich, who's last mane is Chapman funnily enough. He
has the moulds from a Caterham, I got the same set of bits from him. They
require a littler bit of fiddling to fit properly, but they are better than
nothing.
G Chapman 49 Wall Street, Bundamba 3282 4052, these were his details a couple
of years ago.
Good Luck

Subject: [lotusqld] Lotus Twin Cam rebuild
Hi All,
Can anyone please give me a few suggestions on where I could go to get a
lotus twin cam rebuilt?
In addition, I am also looking for parts for a 1986 Caterham seven (I
think it is series III)..... not a lotus but I am hoping that someone
may know of someone with parts to sell
I am after:
- Nose cone and;
- Clam shell guards
Thanks for your help.

Hi Doug & David,
Thanks very much for the info. I've passed it on. We might end up
getting a batch made if there are enough takers.
Cheers, Gavin

Hi Gavin,
Regarding Lotus Europa windscreen, I checked with Moran Windscreens in Brisbane,
I sent them a windscreen and they can make them but they have to make a mould
and it would cost at least $1000.00 to make one Screen, the more they make the
cheaper it gets, but they can't do anything until after Xmas as they are flat
out.Obrien Glass said they have sourced one for me $925 fitted, so far nothing
has arrived. Ralf Moore in Sydney has screens for $700 + GST but they are clear.
Thats about it .

Could you elaborate on the Moran Glass situation, please?
No point in re-inventing the wheel, I'd expect.
Thanks & cheers,

My ailing memory bank has produced the correct source for my Europa
windscreen - Ralph Moore Autoglass, Sydney.

Try Ian Newbury in the Club. He has all my info from when I restored my
Europa. I think I got mine from Moran Glass but a new laminated screen can
be made locally by Moran and others if you have the pattern - someone in
the club is bound to have the screen out of their's
