Europa JPS info....please   Message List

I recently looked at a '74 JPS Europa. I checked it over thoroughly -
'twas a bit of surface rust on linkage arms etc. Body paint not
concourse etc. Anyway my question is (because it didn't look right) is
with the front wheels clearance (with 175/70 tyres at correct pressure).
If you look at the front passenger (left) side wheel the clearance on
this car from 3o'clock on the wheel to the body/wheel arch skin was
approx. 1-1/2" (35-40mm)- when the wheel was on fullleft hand turn lock
the clearance was about 5mm if that. Is this usual? Is it steering
geometry set up (or worse) Could some one please tell me what this
clearance should be.
Cheers for any info
