Well, after 2-1/2 years of blood sweat and tears I have finally finished my 61. I was hoping to be testing it at MAM outside Omaha as we speak. However a lousy weather forcast, ala Murphy, dialed that out.
Now I will be doing the brake bedding and some tweaking on the Friday of VSCDA at Blackhawk in a week. Not what I hoped for but oh well. I just hope it is dry THAT weekend.
I've been in show-n-tell mode lately, before the rock chips. I finished everything but alignment just in time to drag it to Birmingham for the LOG 29. That was perfect weather for that far south. And what a place Barber Motorspots Park is! Bloody amazing. PARK being the operative word. And a museum that will make you head explode. I was really disappointed not having it track ready for the Monday there. Lapping Taladega at 120+ in an Elise made up for it somewhat though. Don't see that every day.
Ran into Al there with a modern Lotus race car. He got that out there Monday.
So is anyone on here also going to make it to Blackhawk? My Age and Treachery Racing group will have about 8-10 racers there. Only two in FF though. Me and a bit newer Lola in FF2.
I haven't done it yet but I will try to get some pictures of it on here. Not knowing what I was up against with the trailer, I unloaded very early for the LOG concours. That allowed me to get some solo pics of it. Got a second place medal for the little open wheel group. The best was that with the early arrival Clive Chapman got to give it a look and a complement. That made my day.
Later, M.B.
