Speedo not working on 1999 B4RSK and fuel gauge not working on 2000   Message List

Hi all, just joined and hoping someone may have had a similar problem
and suggest a method to fix it.

I have two B4SRK's, one belongs to my father-in-law who has emmigrated
and is for sale on eBay;

This one is a 1999 B4RSK and the speedo has stopped working, the
odometer too, neither move at all. I've tried pressing the odeometer
reset repeatedly and pressing and holding it, both stationary and at
different speeds. Any ideas?

I also have a 2000 B4RSK where the fuel gauge intermittantly does not
work, I would say this is 80% of the time. What happens is the
illimination to the guage flashes twice and then the needle rapidly
falls to the empty position and the yellow low fuel light illuminates.
At times the needle slowly rises, sometimes getting to the correct
position to the fuel and sometimes only getting part of the way there
before falling to empy again. I use the odometer to gauge when the
tank needs refilling at the moment. The engine warning light on the
dash also regularly lights up.

I have the 2000 one looked after by Power Engineering in Uxbridge who
check it each time it's worked on but can't diagnose the faults and
say there are no faults recorded when they download the fault records.
Any ideas?

Fingers crossed, I also have details of retro fitting HID lights and
ballasts as both cars I have were butchered upon importing from Japan,
the excellent factory fitted HID's removed and the bulbs replaced with
cut down H4's which are like candles in the headlamp units. Re-fitting
the HID's has produced excellent results, took minutes to do and fit
really cleanly for @£200 including bulbs.

If you want to know anything about what I did let me know.

I also had a stainless exhaust made for both, and fitted if anyone is
interested in the supplier who still have the measurements etc.

Hope to hear from some other owners! Cheers, Kal
