Nothing going on here.  Just trying to dump some parts on Ebay, not going so well.  I should just stick to model cars!    I did get my turndowns on my exhaust today, and found out I have a broken weld on the pipe at the header.  Now I have to fix that somehow.    Robert

Past, present and future?  Kool Kat!!!  While Mama Said is 90% done, and we are having a ball showin it off, Kool Kat is under the wrench right now.  The car had a water leak, and Mike tore the engine down. With the heads off he accidentally caught the car ON FIRE (every neighborhood kid came running to watch that!!).  Mike was trying to adjust the pistons (now we know you can't do that on a Pontiac motor), when he tried to bump the car, he "bumped" a very large fire instead!!!!  Burned every electrical wire under the hood in the process (might I add while Mike is a decent mechanic, lets just say he has never been or ever will be an electrician).  He has finally replaced all the wires, and hooked up all the hoses and just got the car started a few days ago.  The car was still leaking water badly our of the right tail pipe, he is hoping that is just the left over water from the head gasket he replaced (along with every other kind of gasket you can think of)  He is going to start it later today and let it run for a few minutes, then I am going to follow him in the Regal (Mama Said) for that around the block test drive. Keep your fingers crossed for us.  The Lead Sled Spectacular is in three weeks, we are hoping to take both cars this year.

Hi There!!!!

Winter is about over, and not much for show for it.  Sometime during the winter something happened to Kool Kat's brakes.  I had my Regal parked in the back yard, and when Tweety's heater quit (when the temps were in the basement), I was going to have to drive the Regal while Tweety was in the shop (it was just too cold to work on Tweet, we don't have a garage).  We had about 8 inches of snow on the ground (with more falling), Kool Kat started right up but when he went to stop it, the brake petal went right to the floor!!!!!  luckily the deep snow helped him stop it!!  Mike hasn't tried them since it has warmed up, but he is pretty sure there something is wrong with the brake lines.  The Regal is going back out to Alan's soon (two more coats of paint and the rear spoiler).

Now!!!  for Mike and I it was a loooooooong winter. After my knee surgury last September, I got a case of Bronchitis, and never got totally rid of it till about a month ago.  I have quit smoking, and I think that is what finally got me over it.  Just last week, my youngest brother (there are six of us) went into the hospital and is still there.  He has a Stomach Tumor (inoperable now because of the heart attack he had the day after he was admitted).  He was in Cardiac CCU for three days.  His heart Cath showed he was not capable for any kind of surgry, his legs are swollen to twice thier size (my baby brother weighs 340 pounds to start off,) that is caused by poor circulation (and very painfull), his blood pressure is frightfully low and NOW he has a Urinary tract infection, so he is on anti biotics for that.  The IV makes his food taste funny so he can't eat because the taste makes him sick (sigh).

Kind of a bad time here.

While this car today IS A FAR CRY FROM A RAT ROD, I just wanted to share the history of this car with you, and get YOUR feedback on this awesome picture, taken at the Leadsled Spectacular last July.

HISTORY:  On Bill's 16th birthday (many many moons ago), Bill's grandmother gave him a present for his 16th birthday, that any 16 year old could only DREAM about.  Bill's grandmother added Billy's name the the title of her beloved 52 Mercury.  She knew how much Billy loved the car, and wanted to make sure that the car was his after his passing.  Tragically, less than a year later, his gramdmother was killed in an accident, driving this car.  Since Bill's name was on the title, he insisted on keeping this car.  Earth Angel was Bill's first custom car he did all on his own.  While we didn't exactly know Billy at this time in his life, the car spent many years as a "Rat Rod".  One of the first things Billy did to this car back then was make a Carson top (the original top was destroyed in the accident).  The first time we ever met Billy, and was introduced to Earth Angel, the car was a very light shade of purple (his Grandmother's favorite color).  The only problem with the color was NO camera made could depict the color (I used to call it Bluple).  The year we met Billy we had a video camera, it also caught ther car as a light shade of blue.  It was then that Billy decided to paint it Royal Purple.

I will never forget the first time I laid eyes on this car, without a doubt it was one of the best customs I had EVER laid eyes on.  The first time we saw Earth Angel in the color it is now, I can not begin to tell you how impressed I was with the new color, while the light lavender WAS nice, the Royal Purple JUST MADE THE CAR.  Till the day we leave this earth, Mike and I will always have Earth Angel as our all time favorite custom carf.  I have a TON of pictures of this car, and love all of them dearly, but when I saw the first picture I am enclosing here, I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!!!  I got GOOSE BUMPS, and the hair on the back of my neck STOOD UP when I saw this picture.  The person who took it knew Billy, but had no idea of the car's background, he just thought that the tree would be a great background for this car.  I still get goose bumps (even as I send it on to you as a group) looking at this AWESOME SHOT!!!  While you look at this car, think of this Earth Angel has NO awards!!! NADA, ZILCH AND ZERO!!!!  This disturbs me so, his 49 Merc, AND his 64 Fairlane convertable have won awards, but NOT this car.  Look at the pictures I am enclosing and see if you know why?????  The "tree" shot is NOT one of my pics (a person who barely knows Bill, and has NO CLUE of the back ground took the first awesome shot), the 2nd picture is what I took on the same day at the races, while my picture shows a lot of caring, the tree pic shows SO MUCH MORE.

Any Feedback?????  Let me know what YOU think.

The first weekend of October, after a lot off hounding from the
president of the Pontiac club here, we took Kool Kat to the Pontiac
Uprising. Yes we did have fun, but I thought forty dollars for a one
day show was just a bit high, but what got me was the ten dollar
spectator fee I had to pay!!

I put a couple of pics of Mike and I behind the wheel of Kool Kat on
the starting line, the pics are on the 2nd page of Rahm's Rides.
Since we have owned the car, this is the first time we ever put the
pedal to the medal, and probably the last. Up to now when folks ask
Mike to light up the tires, his reply is "It's a cruiser, not a
bruiser" Something tells me Kool Kat is destined to be a cruiser with
a time of 16.76!!!

The car seems posssed though, out of the 30 some odd pictures I have taken of this car ALL of them with the car standing perfectly still, over half the pictures I have of this car are blurry!!!  Never have I had so much trouble taking pictures of a car.  Art just laughs when I tell him that, and even the car scares Art a little bit, all that "plumbing" has become extremely powerful, and Art has taken to trailering the car to shows because of it.  He has built many a car, and driven each and everyone of them to shows, but THIS one seems to be the true wild thing.  The car is pure rolling nostalgia that is for sure.  Art goes to all these swap meets and comes home with all this stuff you see, the gas cap was purchased over fifteen years ago, specifically for this car.

There were several "shoe box" Fords at the KKOA Lead Sled Spectacular earler this year.  From purist stock to radical custom, all of em were pretty darn cool.

If you enjoyed this show you may want to think about coming to the Stray Kat 500 next May (the first weekend of May) in Dewey, Okla.  Dewey is just north of Bartesville on Hiway 77.  Mikey created this show for Rat Rods and Old School customs, it is a two day show, and Mikey's awards are very creative and usefull (one gallon gas cans).  Actually they are solvent cans since you can't get metal gas cans anymore, but they really are something special.  Mark you calendar and if you go, look for us, I am not sure if Kool Kat is going to be done, but if it isn't we will be taking our 83 Regal.  Hope to see ya there.
