King Midget was started by Claud Dry and Dale Orcutt in Athens Ohio, just after World War II. These former Civil Air Patrol pilots manufactured cars and scooters from 1946 to around 1970. Some were also made by later owners of the company, making KM the longest surviving postwar, independent auto maker. The current owners of the company have just re-introduced the Model 3, on a limited basis.
