How much surge is too much? Even if slight surge isn't bad on the engine, would a small blowoff valve (with the discharge routed back into the turbo plumbing)...
Bosch makes a small BOV for the saab 900 and 9000 turbo cars. They are fairly small and if i remember correctly, they are about $30 from the parts store....
