DEFINITELY wiped out the computer on a wrangler I was looking to buy. It had
been wrecked,
but would still run and drive. The salesman started it with a battery pack,
then removed the pack
and told me I could drive it around the parking lot. I declined. The person
who bought it and repaired
the body damage, then discovered none of the gauges worked, and all the gauges
were controlled by
the computer via a data link. Had to have the computer replaced.
I've had the same thing happen to mine by welding on it without disconnecting
the battery or computer, too.
