RE: [janesvillehog] MDA donations

Hi Terry,
It's Deb Duncan, Secretary of the Chapter. I can answer a few of your questions. Shiela is correct in her suggestion of bringing your companies  check with you as pledge monies. Pledge sheets will be distributed in the near future - they cannot make them up until the deadline for sponsorships has passed. This is to assure the sponsors will have their names printed on all advertising materials which provides "free" advertising for those businesses.
My husband Bob assists with signing up Road Guards and assuring volunteers understand their responsibilities and the location of their stop. Since you are a new Road Guard this year, you would be placed at an intersection with an experienced Road Guard to help familiarize you with the process. Bob and I ride the route just prior to the official ride leaving Kutter to assure all guards are in their assigned locations. Last year, many of the guards who were positioned towards the end of the ride followed us on the route. The guards who are assigned to the early stops have the option of joining the ride after it passes or riding directly to the 1/2 way stop. So as Road Guards, we get the best of both worlds - we ride the route and get to watch.
Should you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us. My phone number is listed on the front of the newsletter and I am sure Bob would be more than happy to answer any additional questions you many have.
Thanks for your interest and for stepping up and becoming an active member of our chapter. Hope to see you on Sunday for our first "ride" of the year.
Deb

You will find out that as a road Guard you will get to see the entire ride go past you, it is sort of cool. You will be in the end of the ride, but yes you will travel much of the same route. Jess will be able to fill you in more on that.

Where do I get a pledge sheet? I volunteered to block traffic - is that the same as being in the "ride"?

Terry - If you plan to ride in the Tub Run, I'd suggest you bring the check with you as part of your pledge sheet - it will help you achieve various levels from donations/pledges that entitle you to various items.  Thanks for following up with your company!
