scout II came from the factory with Nissan Diesels. I have heard of people swapping in for diesel V8s. I believe the ford 7.3 diesel was actually made by IH....
ford did use IH 7.3 diesels in the mid to late 80s F and E 350s that i worked on at u-haul. the same engine was also used in the larger trucks made by IH....
