the metal backingplates are actually so you cAN have more "pedal" at your foot. it descreases the space that your foot has to travel beofre the brakes apply......

Depends how and where it is driven. "A" model is heavier so mileage is worse. These cars don't have check engines lights unless something serious is wrong. ...
