As for tranny work in the Chicago area, I know of 2 places...one in
Mundelein, and the other in/near Crystal Lake.  The one in CL is the
one that did the TCC Solenoid work on my '87 MC LS.  The Mundelein
one is the shop to which a fellow MCSS.comer took his '87 LS for work.

And, maybe one of these days I'll get a chance to visit you down at
UofI (er, I think that's where you are, right?).



And, EZ...you are welcome!  Your attendance, of course, will be
expected :).

hey Cort, I guess its about time I joined.  I will do my best to help motivate
members to join..  My roommate will, he is going to get a 87-88 SS in spring
and you know that I have 3 montees, and a regal now.  See you soon, let me
know of any events that are upcoming,  my father has a 1986 SS that needs some
tranny work, anyone you can recommend near Chicago?  Thanks man.  -Scott

Power Tour will be starting in Wisconsin, and going to FL, and
the first day they go from Milwaukee to SPRINGFIELD, IL, then
2nd day from SPRINGFIELD to Indy.   This is the weekend before,
and earlier in the same week of the '05 MC Nats (IN DECATUR -
I EXPECT TO SEE YOU ALL THERE!!!) and theres already a handful
of us that are going to try to make these segments of the

After road trips the last 3 weekends in a row (1 for a family reunion
in PA & 2 for car shows, Woodward Dream Cruise,  MI, & the Weldon IL
show respectively) I'm kind of looking forward to a relaxing 3-day
weekend at home this coming weekend, including cleaning some
vehicles...at least, that's the plan for now....

But, I'm also looking forward to the M-W Fall Gathering in 2
weekends...sun or rain!

For those of you planning to come, some hotels in the area include
the Days Inn (I-90 & IL RT 25) & Holiday Inn (among a handful of
others) just N of I-90 on IL RT 31.

Since the Friday night event is a normal cruise night in Elgin
(Wendy's/Caribou Coffee, NE corner of Randall Rd & Bowes Rd) we will
plan to meet there.

For the Saturday trip to the Volo Auto Museum, we can meet for
breakfast (restaurant TBD).  For those wanting to just drive up there
with us, we will meet in the North end of the Walmart parking lot, SE
corner of IL RT 72 & IL RT 25 in E Dundee IL at 8:45a, to be ready to
head to Volo (via carpools) about 9a.  Or, people can meet up with
the convoy along the route (IL RT 72 E ... IL RT 59 N ... IL RT 12
N ... to Volo).  We will arrive at the Volo Auto Museum by 10a.

Those not going to the Volo Auto Museum can meet up with us at the
Saturday evening cruise at Beef Villa in S Elgin (SW corner of Spring
St/Hopps Rd & McLean Blvd).

If you are planning to attend, let me know so I have an idea of who
all may come.  I can also give you my cell phone # (if you don't have
it already) so we can be in contact that weekend.

Hey, just in case you haven't heard, this year's Hot Rod Power Tour
is coming thru parts of IL on it's way from Texas to Green Bay.

Tuesday June 8 they'll be rolling into Gateway Raceway.
Wednesday June 9 - Gateway to Davenport, IA (Quad Cities)
Thursday June 10 - Davenport to Arlington Heights (the old
  Chicago Motor Speedway)
Friday June 11 - Arlington Heights to Green Bay (finale)

There's a bunch of Monte people from MonteCarloSS.com that
  will be at the St. Louis stop, and another bunch plan to
  do the final run from Chicago to Green Bay.    Due to
  the NMCOA Nationals being on the 11-13, I think we're only
  going to St. Louis then home, and then leave for Bowling
  Green on Thursday night.

Perhaps I'll see some of ya at St. Louis?

I have bought in the past a bracket from mr gasket co that is
completly adjustable.  It holds the kickdown and the throttle and
was pretty cheap (25 bucks).  Mabey this will help.  Randy--- In
