Dr Pulley's HiT Clutch Installed   Message List

Re: Dr Pulley's HiT Clutch Installed

After removing all of the left cover stuff you're left with the variator, drive
belt & driven pulley/clutch assy exposed.

To remove the driven pulley/clutch assy you need to set the parking brake and
zip tie the rear (left) handle. That'll lock up the read wheel and the
clutch/driven pulley assy. You don't need the special tool that's shown in the
Serv Manual --ya only need that tool to remove the Drive Pulley/Variator assy.

Use a 22 mm socket on the nut/washer in the center of the big driven pulley
spring. It's only torqued to 40 ft-lbs IIRC. Then the whole package will slide
off the shaft.

Flip the assy over and remove the six 15 mm (IIRC) bolts holding the clutch assy
to the rest of the driven pulley assy. They're only torqued to 20 ft-lbs.

If you decide to remove that big spring you'll need another spring compressor
special tool. HTH
