I believe a different set of jets is recommended and retuning with the new setup. I think it's rideable without such modifications but performance may suffer....

Just to second that, I believe the difference was only in the crankshaft. US version has a shorter stroke, but the rest of the bike is the same. -m '84 R/B ......
