I've recently bought a 1999 3-door HRV from a private seller here in
Australia. The car
drives fine for most of the time except for a mild rattling noise when
driving at low speeds or when stopping with the Drive gear engaged.
There is also a shuddering noise when I make full-knob turns at low
speeds (e.g., when making a U-Turn). I wonder if these two problems
arose from the CVT system or from elsewhere.
My local Honda dealer is the Wollongong City Motors. I've booked an
appointment with them next Wednesday for an Transmission Fluid
change and to have them look at the problems.
About the special agreement that Honda Australia makes to
repair/replacement of the CVT for 10 years, do I need to make known
to the Honda dealer that I've heard about this special agreement when I
bring the car in for an inspection? My worries are that they might
refuse
to repair/replace the CVT system if it is found faulty.
I would really be grateful if you could advise me on how I should
approach them (the Honda dealer) with the problems.
