Hello everyone! I'm glad to have found this group as I've just bought
a T reg 3 door CVT and have a lot to learn. I not exactly Honda's
target HRV customer profile - I'm old, unfit, unwell and uncool!

Talk about chalk and cheese - the HRV replaces a Lada Niva 1.7i, which
was great off road but not much good on it. I expect the HRV will be
the opposite. I had to give up the Niva because I have had a heart
attack and am no longer strong enough to wrestle the Niva - big
wheels, big tyres and no power steering.

My Sunday car is an 1970 NSU RO80, which still looks gorgeous but uses
petrol at 15 - 25 mpg (Wankel engine - notoriously fragile and
thirsty) and I mostly use a BMW F650 CS Scarver for getting around -
the traffic is hideous where I work in Cambridge.

The HRV came with four different makes of tyre, and they all look like
ordinary road tyres. Any advice on something more suitable for green
roads? Nothing extreme, but I've got a shed in the middle of Dartmoor
I need to get to along a steep muddy track to reach it. Is there maybe
a M + S tyre fitment that is still acceptable on road but competent
off it?
