Re: [honda_nighthawk] 84 CB700SC Speedo cable noise

Tick, tick, tick...
or
Swshik, swshik, swshik...
or
Erett, erett, erett
or
Vuttt, vuttt, vuttt
etc.

Depends on the speed and where the cable was made... ;-)

I use powered graphite, have for decades...
But there are setup for lubing cables.
Check online, most places that sell cables will have the lube kit too.

Subject: [honda_nighthawk] 84 CB700SC Speedo cable noise

I found a little grease at the bottom of the speedo cable. What kind of
noise would the cable make when it is getting low on grease and would
it make the noise only above a certain speed?

What is the easiest way to lube the cable before it goes?

Thanks
Ted

That's interesting. My CM400T did the same thing, except opposite. When it was cold (below freezing) the speedo would squeal, and the colder it was the louder...
