Again the subject of shuddering.... and the possible involvement of
? oxygen sensor ? vs. inferior gasoline ? vs. (perhaps) the
EGR
valve.
Certainly easiest to try: a more highly refined gasoline (in CA, we
pay
more at the pump in taxes, for gasoline offered for sale in CA, that is
more highly refined , so that's not likely to be a cause).
The EGR valve has certainly been implicated before in numerous posts
which recommend replacement or cleansing. Easily done.
O2 sensor? That's another matter entirely. I'd rather try the first
before
running out and replacing the sensor. Could be costly; but, then, an
EGR
valve is also costly, if replaced.
(As an aside... I own a Saab Turbo... of some years.... and have just
spent
a large sum to replace two burned exhaust valves. Within a week, my
wife
had a complete electrical shutdown.... while driving. Came to a halt,
but was
able to restart and proceed (slowly) to a nearby destination. Turns
out, there's
a sensor that regulates the lean-rich gas setting... which, when not
operating
correctly, can cause a shutdown....... Why mention this? Because
the
computer diagnostic threw a code for this sensor, and ALSO for the O2
sensor.
With the correction of the mixture sensor, the O2 sensor code didn't
come up.)
