I have a 2006 Insight that I bought six months ago. It has Pioneer DEH-P889PRS AM/FM/CD Player plus Sirius on it. The antenna was installed through the windshield washer hole above the rear hatch. The previous owner also took the rear wiper motor out and plugged the hole. In addition, I have an XM Unit for the radio.
I have not signed up for Sirius or XM and do not plan to. My wife has XM in her Honda Accord Hybrid which we use most of the time.
I use the Insight for commuting only.
Are you interested in the entire Pioneer DEH-P889PRS AM/FM/CD Player unit?
I would use the stock AM/FM/CD that came with the car.

Hey, all! I just bought a 2000 Insight, and couldn't be happier. It's
got the standard AM-FM/Cassette radio in it, and that's going to be
good for me for about a week. Then, I'm going to want to upgrade. I've
read all the older accounts about which radios work well in the
Insight, but wanted to ask if anyone's installed a newer radio in an
insight. Specifically, I want an AM/FM/CD/MP3 player (all the Cd
players these days seem to play MP3s, so that's not an issue), but I
also want XM radio. It also seems that some are "XM ready", but that
seems to mean that you have to run a cable to another box, and install
the XM antenna.
Has anyone done this yet? Any radios fit better than others?
Thanks.
