So in our search for a RAV4 EV, it looks like those who have them are
pricing for rich yuppies and movie stars. Our engineers suggested we
just order a RAV-REDUX EV. We are thinking about it. A few people on
this list asked us to post our shopping list, so, in the interest of
community, here goes. Notice the Rev. #'s, we assume this list will
go through some
iterations:
Shopping List- Rav-Redux EV 2007
Rev. # 1.01
1. Used Rav 4- $6000.00 or less- www.craigslist.org
2.
2A. Conversion Kit- about $6000.00
www.e-volks.com
www.kta-ev.com
www.ev-america.com
www.electroauto.com
www.metricmind.com
Etc....
OR
2B. Buy parts individually, shop strategically/no installation tech
support- $4000.00 http://www.mcmaster.com/
3. Auto shop to screw it all together- $3000.00 1 week/full service.
(If they can't do it in a week then you got the wrong shop)

So you get an electric RAV 4 in about a week for: $15,000.00 if you
have some gumption.
Then; If you want to beat the specs of the old RAV4 EV you add some of
these:
