ALTAIR RECEIVES ORDER FROM BATTERY COMPANY



Aug. 12, 2005 – Altair Nanotechnologies Inc. (NASDAQ: ALTI) announced
that it has received an order for 2,200 pounds of lithium titanate
spinel electrode nanomaterials from Advanced Battery Technologies Inc.

The materials, manufactured at Altair's facilities in Reno, Nev., are
slated to be shipped in September for Advanced Battery's development
program for polymer lithium Ion (PLI) batteries for electric vehicles.
The company says developmental PLI batteries will be tested in
standard battery test protocols and in real world road tests in an
electric bus and an electric sedan.
