Karen and Tony and everyone else,
Found the engine numbers and they match the reg! Looks like I am in business.
Has the group thought about posting resource links? I have found this business in Massachusetts, Andy Bunbaum or something like that has lots of NOS parts.
Also Found J. C.  Taylor for insurance. I pay 68 dollars for full coverage with higher limits!
I am also looking for someone who makes upholstery kits.

Hi, and welcome to the group. Tony's right in the fact that the
engine number is used to register some vehicles. So is the serial
number found on the left door post. I have seen this door post plate
indicate that the number is the "vehicle identification number" too.
But, generally, the VIN is located on the frame somewhere. Usually
on the left rear frame area. I have a '54 Plaza wagon that was a
stolen vehicle. The Calif. Highway Patrol spent 2 days at my shop
looking for that number. My wife, Margie, is a licensed Calif. State
vehicle verifier and she told us to look on the frame rail at the
rear. After removing the bumper bracket I found it to be hidden
under that bracket. Just where your number is located would be tough
to say. But look there first. Also, remember that age, rust, mud and
undercoating may obscure it so don't be affraid to scrape off some
of the layer left over the years. Hope this helps.

Glad you dropped in. This group is just getting started so bear with
us. Tell a friend or two to join us here. Bob

Thank you so very much, it was very nice of you to take the time to help me out. I would love to have a jacket like the one I saw on that site. I will send you a picture of it and see if it's the one your talking about. I will try and fine a jacket like it around here and make my own if I can get the patches. My name is Gary Bosler, I live in Elma Wash. it's about half way between Olympia and Aberdeen which is by the Ocean. I just blundered into the site and have been looking ever since for a jacket. I know you can't wait so will send you a picture of the old Plymouth also, now I bet that really makes you feel better(joke). I do want to thank you again, and hope to talk to you again. I hope this note finds you and yours well and happy, Gary!!
