Description
The 450/ss Spyder was a creative design produced by the multi-talented and world-renowned automotive designer, Giorgetto Giugiaro, during his association with the distinguished Italian design studio and coach builder, Carrozzeria Ghia, in the mid-60’s. The 450/ss was initially unveiled and featured at the 1966 Turin International Auto Show and was produced in limited numbers through 1967.
Only 52 hand-crafted examples were created (although through the efforts of this group sn#4057 has been found).
This group is a collection of owners and enthusiasts, primarily in the US, but European owners and enthusiasts are welcome. Our goal is to create a community where owners can learn more about our unique cars. Develop resources that will lead to the preservation and restoration of our cars. Finally, to promote and educate the world about our cars.
This group was started by Scott Leclerc April 4, 2001 in an attempt to find and contact other owners.
At last count, we have found 26 (one destroyed) of the original cars. We hope to find as many cars as we can. In the registry section under File, you will find information about each car known to exist. This section requires membership but you don't have to own a car. There are many group members who are not Ghia owners. Since these cars rarely come up for sale, anyone looking for a car should monitor this group because we will probably know about pending sales.
This is a loosely moderated group. However, do to recent spam activity in Yahoo groups, new members will need to be authotized prior to officially joining and/or posting to the group. If you are interested in cars, you will be granted access. If you are trying to sell something, you will be rejected. You must be a member to post, but not to browse. I wish this to be a usable forum for all of us and will do all that I can to keep it that way.

Re: Unknown "Custom" Ghia Found
Thanks John, but I found early MGB 's have the same toggle switch. I can't tell them from Jaguar, but they only had a On/Off and a heater switch(2 positions).

Re: Ghia 450ss up for auction
There are some new photos of this beauty up on the Gooding and Company site. You will notice however that the center top image does not belong to a 450SS.
