Fort Myers Scooter Riders
A group of individuals and couples from the Ft. Myers area who enjoy touring Southwest Florida on large scooters and cycles. Most of us spend part of the year up North, so our semi-weekly rides begin in October and run through mid-May.
This is not a club. There is no charter, mission statement, dues, officers, or meetings.
The group assembles for our rides every Tuesday and Thursday at the Winn-Dixie parking lot on San Carlos Boulevard and Summerlin Road. Show up early to socialize but be ready to leave promptly at 10:00 AM. The rides vary in length from 50 to 200 miles. We avoid Interstate 75 and Highway 41 as often as possible, favoring back roads where the traffic is lighter and the scenery better. Lunch at a casual restaurant is a fun part of every ride, and we often are able to find an ice cream shop on the way home for a cool dessert and more socializing.
Many of our group ride maxiscooters like the Honda Helix, Reflex, or Silver Wing, the Suzuki Burgman, the Yamaha Majesty, and any one of the various Kymco models. However, we allow larger cycle owners to ride with us too.
