Try the Idle Air Control Valve(IAC). They tend to get carbon built up in them
and they won't close completely creating the noise you are hearing. I had the
same issue on my Explorer. I went to my local junk yard and got one about 30,000
miles ago. It is still working. Auto-zone carries them for about $50 I think.
