Hi, i have recently got a 1200 Mrk 1 Cortina. The
negine is fairly knackered and i have heard nothing but
bad stuff about the 1200 so i was wandering if it was
easy to swap to a escort 1300? like a mrk 3 or
somthing. Also is it easy to swap to a rack and pinion from
the same donor car? n e help is
appriciated.

TOM
hey all, I have just got a Mrk 1 Cortina 2-door
1200. The Engine in general is a bit gut-less and it's
aboslutly knackered - hence it was only 300. i'd rather
have a 1300 from a Escort. Is it an easy swap? are the
engine mounts reasonably similar? It's easy for me to
get a donor car so should i switch steering systems
to, to rack and pinion. cheers if you can
help.

TOM
When in High School I had a 1968 Cortina GT as my
first car. I remember it well and wish that I could
find one like it. My dad bought it in late 1968 when
comparing it to the Capri and other small cars. I used to
have a lot of fun terrorizing the 510 guys and it even
surprized a few Mustangs in it's time. Unfortunately it met
it's fate when we had an icy day and I had a run-in
with a telephone pole. Cortina loses. I wouldn't mind
finding another one to put together. My latest crazy idea
has me putting a Boss 302 into a Cortina. Don't kill
me just yet, I know the handling would suffer, etc.
But I bet there wouldn't be much that could keep up
in a straight line. Viper hunting, anyone??
Hello All - Joined this club today and first of
all hello to everyone. I have owned 1600E's since
1978 and I currently own a 1970 amber gold metallic
example with very low milage. Being fundalmentally lazy I
am looking for a mechanic/garage to carry out a full
service and also possible waxoyl treatment at the same
time.
I live in Sussex but would be prepared to
travel.
Also anyone know of a good new spares
supply?
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
My name is Paul and i live in Sydney
Australia. I have been a big fan of the Ford Cortina since i
was very young. My father owned a genuine 67 Mk2
Lotus-Cortina. I have litterally hundreds of pictures of it and
heard the stories my father had of racing every young
hoon on the street and how fast this little car was.
I`d like to own one of these little cars one day,
even though they are worth a small fortune.
If you
would like me to post some pics, i`d be more than
happy.

Paul
Hi everyone - I have just posted a photo of my
105E Ford Anglia Deluxe in the photo album. One of the
last made in 1967 and registered the following year. I
bought it three and a half years ago as a giant air-fix
kit and in four months me and my husband re-assembled
the car. It is my everyday transport all year round
and also I take it to the occasional car show
although its not really a show car. I did however, win a
Best in the Class this year at a local show. ~ Fifi
