Re: FlxOwners...Post... Re: 1941 Clipper on E-Bay/ Dave's 39 Clipper

Now that's the kind of thinking that will see you through a long happy life.  Turn it all on its head, put a banner on the side of The Coach..........."Citizens to end West Nile".........and let the Migratory Birds fend for themselves:  display your oil slick proudly and disperse your particulates randomly..............Peace out...........:o)   And be blessed your not in California and your Flx's are no longer in commercial transportation:  Where the state would come in give the transportation manager 150K for a more modern "spaceship" and condemn your Flxible to the Crusher:  with the provision that no parts can be removed, not even the chrome Flxible sign:  And you would have precisely the particulars of the war now being waged on Crowns:  That because of their quality of build, and the disdain for planned obsolescence, are still in Service in many school districts, and have been condemned to the Crusher:  Absolutely pathetic destruction of historical vehicles that are part of historical industry and legacy of the State.  They won't even allow them to be purchased and moved out of state:  They go in perfect, unmolested, and CHP certified condition to be Crushed:  Do not pass go but do collect your new Bluebird, Thomas, Conventional:  That will be obsolete, rusted, broken, and ebayed in 10 years..............:o(

Then again, I could make the claim that I am working to reduce the incidence of West Nile virus.

I'd bring my visi to the rally but the EPA insists that I purchase carbon credits and encircle the coach with an oil boom.  The letter mentioned somethin about oily, coughing migratory birds...

I remember Dave's 39 at the 2006 Loudonville Rally. Some people might not realize it was a '39 since the side windows were changed to the later slider windows. Originally it had the rectangular windows. It also had the "sail" or radiator scoop added later. The 38-39 and maybe some early '40 models had no "sail". This proved to be a problem at higher speeds since the airflow "boundary" layer just an inch or so above the air inlet became a negative pressure zone. Adding the scoop or "sail" that stuck up several inches then created a positive pressure zone to force air down the radiator tunnel at speed. Kenneth
