My son totaled my beautiful truck. Now I have a perfect condition,
Black, A.R.E Ducks Unlimited Special Edition LSII Hard topper with all
the options (Headliner/Power locks) that fits 1999-2003 F-150
SuperCrew. I paid over $1200 and will sacrifice for $550 firm. This
is a KILLER deal/price. You MUST pick it up. I live in Safety
Harbor, Florida (by Tampa/Clearwater). Email me if you are seriously
looking for one Hell of a deal. spectre@.... Got a new
set of original taillights too (had clear lightning ones on it when
crashed). –PJ

Popped in a set of Carbon Fiber looking tail lights. Look pretty
good, going to send photo's soon.

Change was easy and add's some flavor to back end of the FX4. I have
the red, so it breaks up the back a lil and kinda add's highlites if
you will to the FX4 decal's.

Fit wasn't very snug, but figure its price to pay to try and be kewl'
(if I can still do so at 36, LOL)

AWESOME

Added the stick on window shades. They seem to stick OK. May have to
replace the tape on the driverside one. Also added clear-molded bug
shield. Cuz's body shop painted inside of it the same red as the
truck, looks pretty sweet!
Next will be steps so kids can climb aboard!

Who ever asked FX4 or not, Its not to stiff, I've added alot of
highway miles and find the old gal pretty comfy, but on the farm with
pedal down, shocks suck up the bumps pretty friggin nicely!!

this things flys offroad and maintains excellant traction...climbs
slopes very well too I might add'

Guess not or no responses here. Went by and took a look at the Nissan
Titan - They have navagation - looks sweet too! I keep coming back to
the Lariat though. It just looks so darn good - inside and out -
Wouldn't do less than the Lariat or the FX4 package. That 40K price
tag can hit you hard though. Still saving. Waiting on the 2005 - I do
not see any changes from Fords web site and I chcek often - The 2005
Super Duty looks good! Few changes.... Looking for some good pics of
Audio audio adjustments - say LCD screens /TV/DVD up front for the
F150. Anyone have the audiophile option? I hear it's good.

Thanks, Mike. Went there a while back. What a great site. I've had
lots of questions answered. Actually done a lot to my truck since
then (body lift, 16x10 EA wheels with 285 BFG ATKO. Love the way it
looks and drives. Have been able to hear the radiator fan more now,
almost all of the time when it's cold. It pretty much goes away when
the weather is warm. Bought a new fan clutch, but haven't put it on
yet because I think it might be an airflow issue because of a 3" gap
at the bottom of the fan shroud. I'm going to try to fabricate
something to block the gap and try it first. BTW, I like the body
lift. I didn't want 7" of lift, and I really liked the way my truck
rode before, so I got 3" with the same exact ride.

Does anyone have any information on the dash kit that was used in
the Photos section? Under the AC 130h directory.
I just bought my truck and I want that to be my first mod.
The pictures in the gallery look very good. I was worried about the
integration of the English burled walnut on the tan interior, but
the photos look great.
Where can I get this kit and for how much?

I was oversimplifying... I know there are significant differences
in interiors, and the pulley, but assumed that the Lightning had a
far superior suspension. Of course, not to mention the sticker
prices...

I wouldnt dream using a simple "two extra doors" comparison between
the harley and lightning.. b/c that is the craziest thing I've ever
heard.

Just take a glance at the interior of the Harley vs the Lightning and
the detail will just blow you away. The Harley comes with leather and
all the extra's such as power rear window, adjustable pedals, heated
seats.. the lightning has none of those. Not only that, but the harly
displays your limited edition VIN # on the console!

Engine wise - they both had the 5.4 liter with supercharger.
Difference between the two is the stock Lightning has a pulley that
makes more horsepower than the stock harley. Switch to the lightning
pulley on the Harley and you have the same motor.
Cost wise - sticker for the harley is about 38-9ish
Lightning sticker is around 32.

I'm looking at a 79 Bronco Ranger XLT. The price is right and the
truck isn't in too bad of shape overall. needs the interior
rehabbed seriously, but I'm thinking newer F150 seats ought to fix
the worst of that. Drivetrain was complettely rebuilt
professionally 15,000 miles ago, and I think the truck has about
200,000 miles on it. Worst mechanical I can imagine at this point
is steering and axle problems before long. ought to get a set of
polyurethane bushings for the whole truck. Body is straight and
solid, California truck, but the doors need new rubber so they won't
rattle, and probably new hing pins and bushings wouldn't hurt.

Any of you guys have experience with 70s era Ford F series
trucks? Got any thoughts?

Going for a test drive later and will take it offroad where 4 lo
will be needed. And while the truck will be mine, I am buying it
for my son to drive. He'll be legal to drive in a few more months...

Basically? 2 extra doors... Actually, I think the Harley has a
little less HP than the Lightning. I drove a 2002 Lightning and it
was pretty hot...

The 2003 Lightning recently was recognized by the Guinness Book as
the world's fastest production truck at like 147 MPH, only folded
the mirrors back...

Hey folks,

Well, I just bought my Harley two weeks ago and its the sweetest truck
I think i've ever driven. Its the 2003 and I picked it up with a
whopping 10 miles on it.

I'm slowly getting through the break in period so I can change the
pulley and do a few other mods.

I just joined the group and thought I'd go ahead and say hello to
everyone.

Orginally I was looking at the lightning, but after stumbling across
the harley it was a no brainer.

Any one use anyt of the AIR INTAKECOOLERS?

I have a K&N filter right now

fromwhat I understand the K&N or AIR FORCE ONE among other air intake
systems can add up 15-25 horses.

Don't know wchich is better worse..im sure they are all pretty good.

And they seem to be and easy bolt on in about an our or so...oh and they are
relativley inexpensive..about $200-350

Which for the ponys isnt too bad...if they are all they are made up to be.

Until my wife decided to let me lift mine, I'm stuck at stock ride
height... Though the agreement is when it needs tires, or shocks,
upgrades are allowed.

Two guys here where I live have Fabtech lifts. One was a simple
spindle lift to even it out and 33" tires. The other was the 7"
long travel lift and 35" meats. I haven't priced them myself...

If you hit my website (http://www.geocities.com) you'll see I
still take my truck into the desert. I haven't really gone many
more places than I used to take my old MINIVAN! But I have tapped
the lower plastic part of the bumper a few times.

I am looking for a truck for my 15 year old, nothing fancy. And
I'm looking for another minivan. Yes, the minivan will be setup for
offroad if I find one that fits my needs... (cheap....)

At 23,000 miles on the truck, I'm starting to get some minor brake
squeal. Anyone know some good pads for these trucks?

http://www.geocities.com/phatfoto I live in the Mojave desert and
have some decent pics of the S'Crew in the dirt... Yes, there is
some other stuff there too, but pay no attention if you only want
the S'Crew...

Yeah, me too... And I hope not...

Body lift is when you but lift blocks between the body and frame.
I've never done one myself, but many of the folks I know wouldn't do
a body lift.

A suspension lift is a better way to go, though more pricey.
Fabtech makes a great series of liftkits for both 4x4 and 4x2s (I'd
dearly love to do the 7" long travel kit....). Anyway, there are a
couple of lifted S'Crews around here and I've talked with the
owners. All agree their trucks ride BETTER with the lift.
