Wow...

I was beginning to think this group was dead....it still might be

Hey steve

I think i might go 4" too.....yeah the f-150s look sweet lifted.

I don't know a lot about the suspension vs body lift either.

I do know with 4" you can put larger tires...wich I am considering. I was
told I couldn't go too big until there was clearance under the wheel well. I
am not goind INSANE BIG either, just for a bit more performance and of
course the look.

We get snow here about 4 months or so..NE Sierra Nevadas. So i think I will
get rid of my Bigfoot XT tires and go a bit more aggressive. Hence the
question of lifting or not. I thinks so....my wife.....????? Duh

I did just replace all 4 shocks...midas relflexer or something like that. I
DO NOT LIKE THEM! they are just a bit too mushy. I didn't want too
stiff...but these are just slowing me down in turns, and just need a bit
more firm action. But now I am going to sit with them until I do the lift.

Hey..

Whay prices have you seenfor the lifts for your area? I lived down in
SanBernardinoa while bakcand there seemed to be some good places to get the
work done. Up here not so great, and about $2000.

I would like to lift my 01 Supercrew 4x4 about 3-4" just for

Need to update my site. Had the truck offroad and did some
climbing, so I ought to add those pics to my site...

So, anyone else still enjoying their trucks?

Wow, this list is slow...

Hmmm, if anyone is interested, visit my website
http://www.geocities.com/phatfoto (Pay no attention to the political
ramblings though...)

Chock full of almost NOTHING related to the Supercrew ('cept some
pics)... But, since I'm feeling a little blue for the loss of my
minivan, thought I'd share some of it's exploits. Poor thing only
had 215,000 miles on it. But it has gone to someone else now...

Gas here in Californication is still outrageous. Anyone paying
more than $2.13 for 87 octane? Cost me $20 a day for my commute.
That sucked so bad I had to go buy a 2003 Neon. After my car payment
AND gas, I still have about enough left over for insurance. Better
my money goes for something other than out the tailpipe!

   All for now...

Personally, I don't use any higher grade fuel than is called for.
Fuel prices just are killing me. I've got the 5.4 Liter motor and am
real surprised at power output for regular fuel. THe car I traded
for this truck, required Premium for best power, but tolerated
midgrade fuel just fine.

In your case, I'm not sure what is causing your stutter, but I'd
not blame the fuel used. Premium is probably better for your motor,
but I don't believe will cause any damage. There is a link for fuel
quality that I'll try and find and post. It will open your eyes
about fuel issues...

Everyone...thanks for the inputs. I went to the dealer who found a
bad EGR-type sensor. This had NOTHING to do with K&N and if you go
to their site they have in their FAQs that you can only damage an
air sensor if you oil the filter excessively. They have never had
an incident of their filters damaging sensors but that is a
common "rumor". THe light is off, K&N back in and the SuprCrew
is "haulin' butt" once again! Thanks again! -PJ

From what I know of automotive controls, I don't see how a K&N
filter would cause a sensor issue. As for the cause of the light
coming on, you really need to have someone with a proper scan tool
(OBDII compliant) connect to the truck and see what is the problem.

I'm not familiar yet with the Ford computers, but am pretty up on

I am brand new the group and just purchased a 01 Supercrew - I have
Rhinolined the bed, installed a Raider fiberglass canopy over it,
and had installed a K&N filter charger. I am stoked about the truck
the quality of liner and how easy and secure the canopy fits.
Rhinolining or equivalent is the only way to go for bedliners -
durable, protective, easy to care for, no maitenance...I wish the
rest of the crap in my life could take a lesson.

I am interested in a brushguard/light bar for the front end - any
suggestions?

Thanks much

Hehe, with the various clears out there, hard to decide which to
get... I've talked with a couple folks with the Gibson exhaust, and
they all like them. Not to mention, they sound pretty cool...

The other thing we've not decided, whether to lift or drop. But
since we live in the desert, lifting is probably the way to go.
There is a lifted 2x4 S'Crew here in town, and it just looks SO
right. On the other hand, there is one that has a 2/4 drop and it
looks nice too. Ahhh, decisions. Though we did have a lifted Nissan
back in the 80s and liked it...

Great road machine though, soaks up the miles comfortably (as well
as the gas too..).

My 2000 Navigator just started having both the tach and speedo
slamming to full deflection (max) when starting. It otherwise does
nothing weird. We took it to Lincoln who said that was "normal"???
They said all F-150s, Navigators and Expiditions do this. They
showed my wife a paper saying this is normal. I think it is a
alternator or something in the electrical sys about to blow. Of
course our warranty runs out in a few months. Ours never did in the
past 2.5 yrs. We think they are full of S%&#!

Anyone heard of this? -Pat

Hello,
I'm new to my group. I have a couple of questions regarding my 2001
Supercrew Lariat. Does anyone else have a brke pedal that wiggles
back
and forth? It seems to work fine, but I can wiggle it back and forth
with my foot while not applying the brake. Is this a side effect of
the power pedals? The other question is about a vibration it has
developed lately at highway speeds. I bought new tires, drove it for
about 2000 miles with no problem. Then a couple of things happened at
about the same time, so I'm trying to figure out if any of them can
be
affecting this. 1. The service engine light came on at about 31,000
miles while my wife had the truck. It went off after a couple of
days,
so I didn't think much of it since I was about to have the 30,000
mile
service done. 2. I then had the 30,000 mile service done (by
Econolube, and I won't use them again for various reasons, and I
also hate the dealer here. They have put 5 sets of brakes on my
wife's Mustang in about 18,000 miles.), which included oil, filter,
power steering, differential, etc. changes. Now I have the vibration.
I got the tires at Discount. They have balanced the first set 3
times,
changed to another set, changed to another tire, and now I have
Michelins on it. It seems to have helped, and maybe even taken care
of
the problem, but I was just wondering if anyone else has had a
similar
problem. It also seems to run a little rough at idle with it in
drive.
Anyone got any ideas. Thanks, Steve

I don't know if anyone answered your question , but the button is for

Hey I was wondering if any one had any info on these resistors that
are being sold on ebay. I bought one and it was for my 2001 f150
supercrew, and when I installed it, I got it a service engine light.
I checked the resistance and it read 329 ohms is this correct for the
5.4 litre or are they all the same.
Also any one a good place to pick up a cold air induction for it, k&n
type.

I get about 14 to 17 riding around Tampa. On longer runs I will get
to the 20 mpgs. But mostly its about 16 in the city. With the 25
gallon tank its still takes awhile before you head back to the pumps.

I can tell you for shure there's no SVT SuperCrew, unfortunately.
Roush doesn't have a package on the website or that I've seen
otherwise, however, I'm sure that if you contacted a Roush dealer or
Roush themselves they can out together a package for you. There are
dealers that do dealer-installed covnersions and packages that offer
better performance with a full warranty. Most of these will cost more
than the Supercharged, amazingly beautiful, Harley Davidson SuperCrew.

Does anyone know whether or not the privacy glass in the rear windows
offer UV protection? One window tinter is telling me no and another
says yes. Of course, the guy who says no wants to tint all the
windows. I only want to tint the front windows unless I need to add
UV protection to the rears.
Thanks, Glenn
