hi everybody:anybody out there had any experience with '85 f-150
emissions system problem solving? my '85(carbed 300 inline6)won't
pass emissions inspection.can't get plates for it because the insp
station says it is blowing too much unburned hydrocarbons.I assume
this truck has a computer onboard and I don't think it's telling the
smog pump what to do.the pump works just fine but the control
solenoids on the rocker cover don't seem to be getting the signal to
open the vacuum signal to the control valve.all of the parts stores
around here say that they can't scan the computer in a truck that old!
I took it to a repair shop nearby and all they did was put a new
exhaust system and cat.converter on it($464 worth) and they got me a
2year waiver-that was 3years ago!I miss driving my beast!anybody got
any ideas about what could be wrong?
