Had not seen that thread since I do not follow the eGo Facebook thing. I did
have our charger smoke itself a year or so back. It failed shorted so that
plugging the bike in would trip our circuit breaker. Upon examination, I found
a blown capacitor and lots of ash on other components. I purchased a new one
for $110 from the Solar Store in Bend, OR and am back on the road. I think the
new unit was an updated unit, maybe a Hi Power, but I will need to check my
records at home. It certainly predated the Facebook post about the new charger
company, so I may be facing another failure in the future.
FYI,
Chuck

internal charger rate of failure. My scooter falls in the time period they
where made. If it is only $100, I am willing to switch out the charger-
especially if it works better. (oaky and it is easy to replace.)

charger would only charge about 80 % and then stop. Her range was effected and
the charger had to be replaced within one month. This was her second eGO and
her 1 year old one went farther than her new one. I never did hear how the
replacement went. I only heard about the problem.
