Are you looking for a rack for a solo setup, or a dualseat? If solo,
try www.vtwinmfg. com, which is an aftermarket parts outfit in NY State.
The page numbers for racks are 600 and 727. I have the one with the
round rods on my harley, it is a copy of a 47 HD and was also used on
the original Indians. I am in process of purchasing a Drifter 800,
and will be putting one of those racks on it.

After a major heart attack coupled with a minor stroke and a pacemaker
I find that my 1999 VN1500J is a little heavier than I want to deal
with. I guess at 62 I am not quite as quick to bounce back as I was at
22. I will never quit riding, just gonna have to go back to a lighter
bike, maybe a Triumph 900 or a Harley FX,maybe even an 800 Drifter,
will know after I test a few. Anyway, it is Burgundy, all stock and I
am asking 4500, has 17,000 miles on it, new brakes, tune up and New York
State inspection, I just moved from Arizona to New York to be close to
family while I recuperate. I can be reached at 315-328-4537 or 928-863-

I thought y'all might like to check this out... Chris is working on
a bunch of videos to outline the actual manufacturing process behind
the hundreds of parts we make. Here is a short clip he put together
while experimenting with the cameras, software, placement around the
machinery, etc.
It's the first video, called Demo Reel 1:
http://vimeo.com/1727319
You might find it best to start the video and then pause it, to
allow it to load and buffer. Also, if your computer plays
it "jerky", click the "HD-on" logo in the top RH side of the picture
(when your mouse is over the video) to turn "HD-off".
Though short, you'll see a batch of 750 Honda belt drive preload
caps, a pic of some of the controls and tooling from the VM3 4-axis
CNC mill, the final manual burnishing of the fork pivot for our
raked triple trees, a VN800 rear pulley coming off of the SL-10 CNC
lathe, some shots of the VLX lowering kit from inside of the VM3, a
close-up shot of our new through-tool cooling, our robotic tool
changer in action, and other things.
There will be much more detailed "How It's Made" video coming in the
next few weeks, I'll keep y'all posted on that so you can see stuff
from behind the scenes at SMC.

thx for the reply all i can suggest is mounting the brkts on the top shocker
using an adapter nut ie female nut and male thread to take a second nut to
tighten on the brkt a second fixing to the rear foot rest then connect the two
rear foot rests to each other around the fender and triangulate a third arm to
the tow hitch area from the top shocker thus giving the strength, using a 3/4"
seamless tube schedule 40 over here its a tube not a pipe then powder coat it a
colour or a base coat then spraypaint it best i can offer regards Chris

I am wanting to go to Sturgis this summer and I am looking for a
trailer hitch for my 2001 Drifter. Does anyone know where I can buy one
and send me a picture of what it looks like.
I have sold my 1500 Drifter, but find I have some nice parts left
over. Mainly I have a pair of Kawasaki tan leather bags (semi rigid)
with mounting hardware (not "universal bags) as well as a tan solo seat
and a tan double seat. Also a set of black "elephant ears" that cover
the crash bars for winter riding. Contact me at LVFunCpl@... for

I had these guys coat my stock head pipes on my '99 RK and I love
it. They also coated the tops of my pistons to reduce hotspots that
lead to pinging. They have a variety of colors and it is very
durable. Very nice folks to deal with, at least the Salt Lake folks
were. I want to do my '99 Drifter pipes, but you have to quit riding
the bike till they're done. HPC, however are very quick.

Hello everyone,
This Saturday's Ride is going to go to Riverside for a Chili Cook
Off. My girlfriend is part of a team that is organizing the Mothers
of the Military (MOM) Chili Cook Off. There will be about 20 or so
cooks competing for the title of best chili cook in Riverside and all
proceeds of this event will benefit MOM.
I have planned a route that will start in Burbank off the 5 Freeway
and Alameda. There is a small cafe on San Fernando Road called
Patrick's address: 6720 San Fernando Rd, Glendale. We can meet
there
and it is up to anyone that wants to eat to get there sooner. I plan
to have the kickstands up by 9:30 am. This will give us a couple of
hours to ride out to Riverside and get there around noon. We will
start out by taking the 134 to the 210 to the Route 66 Exit in La
Verne, that is about 32 miles via Freeway. Then we will cruise Route
66 all the way to Rialto about 30 miles where we will make a right
turn on Riverside Ave and ride about 10 miles to the location. The
event is at the Riverside National Guard Armory across the street
from Fairmount Park.
I suggest we get there hungry so we can try all the different chilis
these cooks have to offer. There will be music and entertainment as
well as raffles and games.
You can go to my website to see past chili cook offs. I have really
gotten to know a lot of these people and they are really fun to hang
out with. Check out my picture page at:
www.PicoDeGallo.net
I hope to see you guys this Saturday.
Please respond with any comments so that I know who to expect and
make any changes to the route if there is a more interesting route to
take.
The weather is predicted to be great. Sunny and warm... we are lucky
to live in such a great part of the country to ride!
