Hi i have been looking for a luggage rack that does not need to be
attached to a sissy bar. I found one that looked just right at two
places it was black and made out of steel and was relativly cheap, but
one place was out of stock the other i orderd it from sent me an e-mail
3 weeks latter saying the company no longer made them and they were
unable to locate one. Can anyone help me out i wanted this because i
want to put the leather like trunk case with the built in backrest on
it and you cant have a sissy bar in the way. Thanks for any help
anyone can give Ken.

I have been looking for a Drifter for a little while and it seems as
though they are available only on the East Coast in my price range.
($4500 - $5500) There was a beautiful Red and Beige in PA with 2800
for $4500...I was tempted to have it shipped, but he sold it...and
since I live in California, it would have to have 7500 miles on it to
register (although my mother lives in Arizona and I could have
registered it there).

If anyone out there knows of a 1500 in my price range...please let me
know.

Thanks

Hello, I just bought a drifter yesterday and I am really excited about
it. I got a 2006 800. It is my first bike and I am really glad that
there was something like this in the market at such a reasonable
price. I am looking forward to fixing it up and riding as much as I
can. I just wanted to share this with fellow Drifter owners.

Happy Holiday, George

C'mon over and ride in the Zebulon, NC Christmas parade with
Scootworks on December 4th... We'd like to have everyone who would
like to ride in it, at the shop by 12:30pm (but the earlier, the
better) Some of us will actually be there by 11:30ish, so feel free
to come on over as early as you like. We can walk up to the
HoundDawg Cafe for a hot dog before the parade! We'll make the short
ride to the starting point from there, then ride in the parade. No
helmets are required, and we'll have the shop open on that day with
refreshments for all, so you'll have somewhere to hang out.

Those of you who rode in last years ride know that we had a blast.
We had riders there from The Enforcers, Southern Cruisers, Raleigh
Red Riders, NCVulcan, VROC, Iron Eagles, CBA, GWRRA, MIG, and more.
Some riders came from over 100 miles away to ride in the parade with
us! We had a few wheelies, a burnout or two, lots of throttle
twisting and noise making, etc...but all at low (or no) speed.

Everyone is invited, and please pass the word along to other riders
that you know. The more, the merrier...wear your Santa stuff if you
like, fly banners, pull flags, advertise your riding club or group,
dress the bike up for the holidays and show it off...what ever you'd
like to do.

One quick note about the town of Zebulon. Zebulon is a pretty unique
town and has been great to us when it comes to motorcycle activity
and events. They really are glad to have bikers in town, 'cause they
know we all eat and buy stuff, and we're not the 'rough neck,
trouble causing group' that some seem to think we are (at least, not
most bikers, hehehhehe). They don't give us any flack about noise or
vehicle congestion. They welcome pretty much anything we do, which
is VERY different from a lot of other locations. I have friends with
bike shops in other towns, and from the horror stories I've heard,
we're very fortunate to have the blessing of Zebulon. I guess that's
one of the neat things about small rural towns in NC.

Anyway, I hope many of you can make it out to ride in the parade and
visit with each other. You can see a few pics from last year's
parade by going to http://www.scootworks.com/ and click on the image
labeled as "Event Photos".

Hey Biker Trash,

I'm rebuilt and ready for customization... again.

I bought the totalled bike back for salvage at $500 and put the
insurance settlement into putting her back together. There was
nothing mechanically wrong that could not be easily fixed and I ended
up with about $1,500 left over for paint? mirrors? a new jacket?
(the EMTs cut my old one off at the crash site... I'm gonna miss that
leather.)

Anyway, like a pheonix from the ashes my beloved Drifter is back for
more... meaner and hungrier than ever.

Go Vulcans!

Oh... and Go Colts!! After all, I AM from Indiana, you know!

This coming Saturday, October 9th Braids by Leather Kim will be set
up at Scootworks in Zebulon, NC. We have used Kimberly Harrison to
custom braid various projects for us, as well as for local
customers. Her work is awesome, as good or better than Iron Braids
(in our opinions). She can do Bolos, standard braids, tassles,
fringe, flat braid, Medieval, 5-strand, guilloche, round,
square...you name it, she can do it.

She has many colors of leather to choose from, and can braid levers,
handlebars, crashbars and engine guards, frame down tubes, key fobs,
windshield edging, zipper pulls, etc. Just like the folks at Iron
Braid, she'll be doing bikes on-site at Scootworks from 10am -
3pm...probably longer if folks have enough work to keep her busy.

If you're thinking about having something braided on your bike,
Leather Kim will give you the quality of work that you'll be
impressed with!

For those not familiar with the location of Scootworks, you can find
our address and maps online at www.scootworks.com or call (919)269-
0986 for directions.

Geez Tony!
Glad your here to talk to us and tell the story yourself,
although none of us would really want to hear it! Get some rest and
take care of yourself. A new Drifter can be had. We can't get another
you! :O)
Hope your feeling better soon, and make out on the positive side of
this with a new scooter to ride or an old one to massage!
